Job Description
Southland Construction, Inc. is a general contractor providing vertical, heavy highway, and utility construction services in Florida since 1977. Southland has employed as many as 205 full time experienced people with a wide variety of talents second to none in the construction industry. We perform services for both public and private clients with jobs ranging from $200,000 to $100 million.
The End Dump operator will be responsible for transporting loads from one place to another on multiple jobsites.
Responsibilities:
- Transporting loads from one place to another
- Verifying material weight
- Cooperating with other equipment operators
- Keeping the truck clean and in good condition
- Transporting materials in a timely manner
- Must be capable of climbing in and out of the cab on a daily basis without needing assistance
- Able to position the truck in the loading area in such a manner as to place the truck in the position for loading by either a front end loader and/or excavator
- Hauling a load, backing a loaded truck into position and dumpint the load by utilizing the on board electornic and hydraulic controls
- Back into the dumping position safely and assure that other workers are not backed over
- Coordination with other equipment operators and the delivery site
- Must obey traffic rules before crossing public roads and must not cross roads until it is safe to do so
- 1-3 years' experience driving end dump
