Come join us and help shape the future!   WSP is currently initiating a search for a BRT Supervising Planner Engineer for our Denver office.  This position reports to the Manager of the Fleet & Facilities Division, within WSP’s Transit & Rail Technical Excellence Center.  The selected individual will be responsible for providing Full Time managerial, engineering and technical expertise for WSP's BRT practice.   Duties and Responsibilities:  
  • Act as a technical expert and task manager on Bus Rapid Transit projects at all phases, from concept to construction
  • Provide Project Management on small to medium size projects with opportunity to grow, including contract negotiation and managing to a scope, schedule, and budget
  • Support larger projects as a Task Manager, Segment Manager or discipline expert
  • Aid local offices pursuing or delivering BRT projects with technical expertise, including opportunities to travel
  • Demonstrate your skills to the industry through conference presentations and paper publication
  • Assist in growing the business by writing marketing proposals and providing other business development support
  • Management of technical staff

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field
  • Professional Engineering License
  • 10 years’ experience in Bus Rapid Transit projects
  • History of successful project and task management
  • Ability to manage multidiscipline teams of both in house and subconsultant staff
  • An ability to work independently on projects and giving direction to support staff.
  • Demonstrated organizational and communications skills.
  • A strong desire to learn, take on challenging projects, and think outside the box to solve unique problems
  Preferred Qualifications:
  • Advanced degree(s) preferred
  • Familiarity with FTA Grant program requirements
  • Professional relationship in good standing with at least one transit agency, ideally with a personal reference WSP may contact
  • Technical skills in engineering design including AutoCAD
