Network Sales Engineer / Specialist Kendall Electric, Inc. a leading regional full-line Electrical Distributor is seeking an ambitious, self-motivated individual for an Industrial Datacom Specialist position. Position Summary: The primary responsibility of this role is to conduct business development, provide technical sales support, and provide design/engineering support for Kendall's Industrial Datacom Portfolio. This portfolio includes Industrial Network Infrastructure, Hardware and Software products offered by Rockwell Automation, Panduit, Hubbell, Cisco, Isonas, Speco and other partnering manufacturers sold by Kendall Electric. This role is responsible for pre and post-sale technical support of industrial network systems, products, and design, as well as competency development for our inside and outside sales teams. Position Description: This position is responsible for ensuring that the following activities occur for the Datacom business within the Traverse City, Cadillac, Muskegon, Grand Rapids, Holland Area of Primary Responsibility (APR):
Ensure a consistent level of business development and support for Kendall account managers and customers with the APR.
Have a good understanding of IT or OT in manufacturing space. The ability to communicate to customers in both segments is a plus.
Be a single point of contact to partnering manufacturers for the Datacom product lines within the APR, and be a lead advocate for the product.
Maintain an extensive understanding of the Datacom and industrial networking products offered and the applicable industry standards associated with those products.
Lead commercial activity and conversations at key accounts.
Work with outside sales to create and maintain a robust sales funnel.
Minimum Qualifications and Requirements:
2+ years' experience in the Datacom Technology field. This can be Infrastructure project management or I.T. related experience.
Demonstrated knowledge & understanding of the Datacom and Industrial Networking space and its standards.
Demonstrated knowledge & understanding of Industrial plant floor systems and their unique requirements.
Strong interpersonal communications, analytical and problem solving, organizational and written/verbal communication skills.
Ability to influence and guide team members when required.
Effective presentation skills in both small and large group settings.
Other responsibilities may be added to this role based on the applicant's skill set.
Experience with OT software for PLC programming and Automation. Rockwell Studio 5000 is a plus.
An understanding of industrial communication protocols (OPC-UA, OPC-DA, Ethernet/IP, DF1, Modbus TCP and RTU, TCP sockets, Profibus, Profinet) is a plus.
