Role/Department Description:

The UX Design Group at FactSet collaborates on cross-functional project teams to contribute to the delivery of high-quality products that meet corporate and client needs. The Group defines the user interaction standards and the visual signature for FactSet's software applications and websites.

The UX Lead is an individual contributor responsible for completing assigned projects and contributing knowledge of FactSet business and users to project teams. Job focus is on completing project tasks independently, influencing decision-making on projects, providing guidance to less-tenured team members, and expanding knowledge of FactSet business and users.


  • Consistently produce comprehensive and accurate deliverables in a timely manner for a variety of large and complex projects
  • Collaborate appropriately with UX team members to identify similarities and dependences across projects
  • Influence decision-making on projects across UX by sharing knowledge about UX standards, practices, decisions, goals, and potential innovations
  • On assigned projects, lead the UX process by defining UX objectives and supporting UX decisions through communication of best-practices, standards, and design principles to project teams
  • Ensure UX activities are performed and team members are included in the development process on all projects
  • Collaborate with less tenured team members to guide work in product areas of expertise
  • Contribute knowledge of UX, technology, UI trends, and client workflows to work across the team to help drive innovation

Required Skills:

  • Undergraduate or post-graduate degree in interaction design, human computer interaction, or related field
  • Minimum of 8 years' work or equivalent experience performing UX activities
  • Experience designing across multiple platforms (including phone, tablet, and PC) with a focus on responsive and adaptive best practices
  • Strong knowledge of data visualization and experience dealing with large, complex data sets
  • Portfolio of work demonstrating solid interaction design skills: wireframes, prototypes, design walkthroughs, specifications
  • Expert with the tools and activities required for job tasks and able to share expertise with other team members
  • Experience with all areas of user-centered design including persona creation, discovery research, usability research, heuristic evaluation, and workflow creation, and the ability to apply UCD and information architecture principles to every day practice
  • Experience with developing corporate standards for user interface design
  • Has an advanced understanding and personal philosophy of UX and is able to shape that of team
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to effectively communicate in meetings and in documentation form

  • Ability to think strategically, collaborate productively, and problem-solve effectively
