The role of the Software Tester- Lead is to develop software testing strategy and execute test cases independent of supervision. This role involves providing strong technical and functional knowledge and leadership to the Software Testing organization. The Software Quality Assurance Team reports directly to the Software Quality Assurance, Manager or Director. CNSI supports a high-volume healthcare data system that is accessed through multiple web portals. This high-volume system operates out of multiple data centers and must reliably be available to its clients 7x24x365
What you will do:
Develop and execute formal test strategy/plans, write and execute test cases/scripts, and validate results.
Support and report on Software Testing Metrics.
Collect and analyze testing metrics for assigned projects, provide suggestions for improvement areas.
Coordinate and lead all phases of testing for assigned projects.
Interact with stakeholders of the project including architects, business analysts, systems analysts, project managers, and business owners to determine testing needs.
Work with the project team to successfully integrate testing into the project.
Track and report quality assurance metrics such as defects, defect counts, test results and test status.
Communicate testing results and provide recommendations based on issues discovered.
Track progress of your project; provide status updates and manage expectations of project stakeholders.
Lead Test Engineering team and assign tasks for team members to ensure testing needs per assigned projects are met.
Document and assist in the resolution of complex problems and issues.
Provide guidance and mentor, act as a point of escalation for Test Engineers on the SQA Team
Aid with on-boarding of new team members including Knowledge Transfer process.
Who you are:
You have a Bachelor’s Degree or Master’s Degree with 10+ years Software Quality Assurance experience, Preferred Majors: Computer Science, Information Systems, or a closely related field
You have experience with software development life cycle (SDLC) and Software Quality Assurance life cycle (STLC)
Three years + experience as Software Test Lead
You have Strong back-end Software Testing experience
You have understanding of SharePoint applications, Webex, Skype, etc. o
You have knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Visio, with a working knowledge of the rest of the Microsoft Office suite of applications
You have strong knowledge of defect management tool (such as Jira)
You have hands on experience of database tools (such as Oracle, SQL Server, TOAD)
You have strong knowledge of fundamentals of programming
You have experience in the healthcare industry
You have experience with Software Automation Testing
You have moderate Agile experience
