WAVE produces metal ceiling grids that can be combined with Armstrong ceiling boards as a complete package or sold individually. We are seeking an Electro Mechanical Technician to join our team in Aberdeen, MD.
Repair damaged mechanisms, replace worn or defective parts and adjust assemblies for proper operations.
Troubleshoot, repair, and install equipment in compliance with all plant codes, policies and procedures
Safely utilize machine shop equipment, hand tools, power tools and precision-measuring instruments.
Perform inspections of presses, industrial saws, packaging and labeling equipment, and other auxiliary equipment.
Identify complex units, determine root cause of issues, repair or replace defective parts and wiring.
Install multiple interlocking safety devices, conduit, electrical panels and other accessory components.
Inspect various equipment required by OSHA and apply all compliance requirements.
Assist engineers and other production staff in the debug of equipment on the production floor.
Perform evaluations of new technologies with potential application as a new process or as a modification to existing equipment.
Fabricate simple brackets, conduit and hangers, as required.
Maintain spare part inventory.
Maintain all work areas and equipment in a clean and orderly condition at all times.
Perform all work in a safe manner; use proper lock-out procedures during repairs or machine adjustments. Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) and make certain that all safety equipment is in proper working order.
Perform these and other related duties as assigned or directed.
Actively participate in communication and WAVE culture.
In addition to the above general responsibilities, an Electro-Mechanical Technician must preserve a safe work environment and work in a safe manner following all safety SOPs.
Required; minimum 2 years or more of mechanical and electrical maintenance experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment.
Experience with fabrication, conveyors, hydraulics, pneumatics and building maintenance.
Experience maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing PLCs, HMIs, control systems, and motors.
Experience reading electrical and maintenance schematics or blueprints.
Able to lift a maximum of 40 pounds
Able to stand 8-10 hours per day at assigned work area
Able to work the afternoon shift (Monday - Friday 2:15pm - 10:45pm, Saturday OT sometimes required)
