Come join us and help shape the future!   WSP is currently initiating a search for a Transportation Project Manager for our Miami or Fort-Lauderdale, Florida office. This individual will manage projects and tasks, build and maintain client relationships, and participate in business development activities to help achieve the sales, revenue, and project delivery goals of the South Florida Region.   Candidates should demonstrate experience in South Florida or a comparable major metropolitan transportation market, leading and delivering work tasks for transportation projects and studies including PD&E/NEPA documents, data collection, research, and documentation contributing to the development of statewide, regional, and local transportation plans, corridor plans, multi-modal feasibility studies, policy documentation and research, and other analyses. Demonstrated experience as a part of pursuit teams and contributions to proposal and business development is also desired. Day to day work will require:
Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Serve as a project manager, deputy project manager or task lead on projects
  • Develop strong working relationships with clients, potential clients, and partner firms to support and lead business development activities.
  • Supervise, lead, and mentor mid-level and Junior staff
  • Lead teams of WSP staff and sub-consultant staff to deliver high quality projects for our clients
  • Participate in Client Engagement Teams (CET) to support business development efforts
  • Prepare Project Development & Environment (PD&E) and National Environmental Protection Act (NEPA) documents, engineering reports, technical memorandums, and other similar work products
  Requirements Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Planning or related field
  • PE and/or AICP
  • A minimum of 15 years progressively responsible relevant experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Experience preparing National Environmental Policy Act environmental review documents
  • Experience in leading transportation planning projects and other related studies
  • Experience as a Project Manager or Deputy Project Manager for Florida PD&E studies
  • Roadway design experience or experience working closely with civil designers
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills; demonstrated teamwork skills
  • Increasing responsibility for interacting with clients, public officials, and the general public
  • Ability to immediately work in the United States
  Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master’s degree in Civil Engineering, Planning or related field
  • Experience working with transportation agencies and base understanding of Florida Department of Transportation, Federal Highway Administration and/or Federal Transit Administration regulations and policies.
  • Active in professional organizations such as Florida Engineering Society, American Planning Association, National Association of Environmental Professionals, American Society of Highway Engineers.
