This position is in the Comcast RE Voice Operations team , which supports a VoIP environment consisting of Residential Ericson/Huawei IMS, Commercial Broadsoft Broadworks systems soft switchs, client software applications, SRP&SBC, Edgemarc ALG/ESG, Adtran IAD, Polycom, Nokia SS7 MGC/MGW ,TDM, 911 Emergency Services, Calea, and customer IP phone systems. The Operations Team is comprised of hardworking, motivated, and technically-skilled experts who deliver the highest possible quality of network services in a fast-paced and quickly changing environment. We are looking for like-minded individuals who want to learn, build and enhance their technical skill set in a detail-oriented environment of engineers and technologists. The VOIP network operations team supports transport technology T1-OC level connections, and enterprise level architectures.

Our Operations teams are responsible for the following functions:

  • Supporting Product engineering teams on Application and network architecture in the arena of IMS, Broadsoft,MGW, and 911 Emergency Services
  • Interface and Support of Product Development technology and feature introduction from an Operations perspective in the area of SIP, SRP and SBC NENA I2,I3 product suites
  • Production Operations testing of new CPE, applications, services, etc. and support of Test Quality Assurance (labs)
  • Interoperability and interconnection testing in the Production environment
  • Technical Leadership and training of lower level engineers in triage and trouble-shooting, architecture and best practices
  • Operations guidelines and design documentation (QoS, performance, reliability, security, scalability, VOIP, etc.)
  • Design Documentation
  • Requirements Definition
  • Vendor selection and management from an operations perspective
  • Isolation and Restoration of Critical systems and issues

We are looking for a up and coming formally or informally trained engineers motivated to continue growing their talent in a technical space with some experience or familiarity with any or all of the following technologies including: Application Development, VOIP protocols, Telecommunication Transport, Ericson/Huawei IMS platforms, Broadsoft, MGW technologies, LINUX operating systems.

  • Developing “driver” with a short learning curve that will be tasked to learn in order to move the work out of entry desks

  • Documents a detailed design to meet technical requirements and architecture.
  • Interfaces with outside teams as point of contact for internal and third party software in support of detailed designs.

  • Works closely with development, integration and test teams to ensure product quality. Participates in deliverables for trial and market readiness.
  • Regular, consistent and punctual attendance. Must be able to work nights and weekends, variable schedule(s) as necessary.

Job Specification:

  • Operations focused support, analysis and design documentation based on Product Requests and Requirements
  • Technical learning and support of higher level engineers, leadership, training, project management teams
  • Support Product Engineering with Systems architecture planning, system implementation guidelines, and engineering guidelines
  • Support roll out of scripting, tools and testing for VoIP application integration, operational tools and engineering projects.
  • Support & Coordinate Lab testing, design, and architecture work
