Job Description
As a Claims Litigation Consultant, in Risk Management, you will be responsible for providing assistance to the Risk Litigation team in high exposure, general liability, medical malpractice and professional liability cases.

As a Claims Litigation Consultant, you will be:

- Utilizing technical and critical thinking skills to assist litigation adjusters and outside counsel in handling lawsuits against CVS across the United States
- Assisting with billing management system and reviewing invoices submitted by outside counsel
- Collecting file materials from internal resources and systems to assist litigation adjusters, Director of Litigation and In-House Counsel. This includes regular communications and development of relationships with key internal stakeholders that Risk Management relies on to obtain records and information in defending CVS from lawsuits handled by Risk Management.
- Assist with scheduling and maintenance of calendar for mediations, settlement conferences, arbitration and trials.
- Assist with preparing and maintaining reports to effectively communicate within and between departments
- Participating in meetings to learn CVS processes and systems.
- Collaboration with other litigation consultants to develop consistent and cohesive processes and systems to support the Risk litigation team.

Required Qualifications
- 1 or more years of legal experience as an attorney, paralegal or legal support staff assisting with litigation.

Preferred Qualifications
- 3 or more years of legal experience as an attorney, paralegal or legal support staff assisting with litigation.
- Paralegal experience with a large healthcare company or law firm.
- Ability to work collaboratively with senior leaders and outside counsel.
- Proficient in Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, Outlook) with a proven ability to learn new software programs and systems.
- Ability to work independently and in an environment requiring teamwork and collaboration.
- Ability to navigate difficult situations with both internal and external groups.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Possess strong customer service skills and behaviors.
- Make decisions in an informed, confident and timely manner.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Understanding of legal documents (pleadings, discovery, motions and memoranda).
- Ability to understand complex issues and develop and organize a case file in a consistent manner.

Verifiable High School diploma or GED is required. Bachelor's degree, JD degree or paralegal certificate preferred.
