JOB SUMMARY

Position has direct responsibility for a defined territory as prescribed by manager. Position is responsible for the management, development and growth of sales in the territory.

Provides sales related services to current customers and identifies prospective clients in support of the strategic sales goals of the organization. Develops and maintains long lasting, positive relationships with customers.   Evaluates and reports on changes to the marketplace as it relates to products and service requirements. The Account Manager reports to Director of Sales.

 

 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

·Maintain and develop existing and new customers through appropriate propositions and ethical sales methods to optimize business growth

·Acts on behalf of the customer as the internal liaison to ensure quality of service, customer satisfaction, securing profitable and sustainable relationships

·Plan and prioritize tactical sales activities to establish appropriate levels of contact with current and prospective customers to achieve agreed business goals and market development strategy

·Participates in establishing annual sales objectives through the development of accurate forecasting in assigned territories, projecting expected sales volume for existing and new products/customers while making and communicating adjustments as required

·Participate in price negotiations with customers in accordance with established goals

·Monitor and report on market and competitor activities and provide relevant reports and information through established procedures

·Prepare presentations for external and internal meetings necessary to perform duties and aide in business development

·Utilizes established computer system to document customer and prospect activities and ensure timely and accurate update of all relevant information held in the system

·Supports sales and marketing activities through integration of sales efforts with other organized marketing activities such as Research and Development activities, new product launches, promotions, exhibitions, etc.

·Manage customer inventory in accordance with established goals.

·Other reasonably related duties as deemed appropriate

·Adheres to all health and safety polices

·Contributes to a team effort by proactively assisting internal contacts. Attend training programs to develop relevant knowledge, techniques and skills.

·Controls costs by proactively controlling expenses and elimination of waste.

·Keeps management informed by submitting activity reports regarding product, customer, market and sales analyses.

·Maintains and protects proprietary information as it relates to the company and customers.

·Maintains the company reputation by complying with governmental regulations.

·Perform related duties as assigned by Supervisor.

 

 

 

 

 

Bachelor Degree in Business (or other relevant field) or equivalent in related business experience

·Minimum of five (5) year sales experience in a manufacturing environment with proven, quantifiable success managing major accounts and large contracts. Packaging industry experience preferred.

·Skilled at managing multiple tasks within time and budgetary constraints

·Possess exceptional interpersonal skills; adept at negotiating under stressful or adverse conditions

·Proven ability to work with general direction receiving guidance in terms of broad goals and objectives, analytical thinking, project management and problem solving

·Demonstrated effective selling techniques, product and marketing concepts

·Proficient computer literacy with established basic knowledge in general applications; word processing, spreadsheets, PowerPoint and ERP systems
