Job Scope The Pool & Spa Specialist (PSS) sells pools and spas by understanding the characteristics, features, and benefits of the pools and spas that we sell. The Pool & Spa Specialist is responsible for the effective execution of all pool and spa related sales and customers at his/her retail location, sales plans, profitability, operating procedures, and all merchandising objectives related to the location's pools and spas.
  • Understanding the reasons why people want to own a pool or spa and is able to recognize each shopper's needs through consultative selling to match requirements and interests to various models
  • Maintaining sales leads, and following up on all leads in a timely manner to drive shoppers back into the store to close the sale
  • Closing sales by overcoming objections; asking for sales; completing sales contracts; explaining provisions; explaining warranties, services, and financing; collecting payments; following up on delivery
  • Creating internal orders for custom spas for purchasing agent
  • Understanding the POS system, contracts and financing options
  • Meeting and exceeding sales and profit goals
  • Training and motivating all sales associates to sell pools and spas, close deals, and to obtain information from all shoppers for lead follow up in order to sell pools and spas during all store hours
  • Developing new buyers by maintaining rapport with previous customers; referrals
  • Selling at company home shows, tent sales and off-site events
  • Updating job knowledge by consistently studying pools and spas in the industry and reading professional publications
  • Maintaining clean and attractive spa displays, display areas and effective signage

  • You have three to five years of sales experience, large ticket items preferable. You have the ability to build rapport with customers and qualify their requirements. You understand the selling process and customer engagement as it relates to sales, and are strongly committed to hitting targets and exceeding goals.
