Job Description

Driver Class A - CDL

Chicago, IL

The primary role of a Driver, Class A CDL is delivering merchandise via (but not limited to) a Class A vehicle to the customer in a courteous, professional and cooperative manner; assists customer in whatever way needed.

Responsible for the timely delivery of product to customers, while providing exceptional customer service. Promotes a professional attitude at customer delivery locations.

Position Responsibilities:
  1. In addition to delivering merchandise, maintains all required documentation neatly and completes paperwork daily.
  2. Reports any shipping errors to supervisor.
  3. Inspects vehicle daily, reporting all malfunctions or defects to management.
  4. Responsible for being an alert and responsible driver.
  5. Maintains and adheres to all Department of Transportation (DOT) and Hours of Service (HOS) regulations.
  6. As the front line of service to the customers, must maintain outstanding customer service, positive attitude, and build rapport with clients. Adheres to all customer requests according to established policies.
  7. Able to get in and out of truck multiple times a day and unload product.
  8. Works proactively to foster and maintain a positive team oriented atmosphere at all times. Works together with fellow associates as a team to promote the goals and common good of the company.
  9. Develop relationships and excellent lines of communication with all internal and external key members; develop a clear understanding of the needs and expectations of the company.
  10. Responsible for thoroughly understanding Concordance's internal processes and products; and for infusing Concordance culture into interactions and business transactions.
  11. May be required to work in warehouse, as needed.
  12. Other duties as assigned.

Knowledge Required:
  • Knowledge of and ability to maintain/meet DOT and HOS regulations and requirements
  • Must be accurate and have good attention to detail
  • Must work in a safe, efficient and respectful manner with other personnel
  • Excellent customer service and time management skills
  • Basic math skills are required
  • Must be able to work effectively as part of a team as well as independently
