Position Overview

International travel will be required.

The Senior Business Analyst is an Internal Product Owner that represents the client's business needs, solution goals & priorities during the engagement. In collaboration with the client Product Owner, the Senior Business Analyst drives development and maintenance of the product backlog, ensuring story quality and completeness (including INVEST characteristics) and performs the Sprint Demos. The Senior Business Analyst serves as the internal Silverline's team's initial point of contact for requirement gathering, clarification & prioritization for the initiative.

Primary Responsibilities to the Client

  • Ensures the Client Product Owner understands the Silverline Adaptive Agile methodology and use of Silverline Tools (Gateway and/or JIRA)
  • Collaborates with the Client Product Owner to develop & prioritize the product backlog ensuring INVEST characteristics
  • Establishes working relationships with Client SMEs
  • Provides best practices around the functional areas affected by the engagement
  • Facilitates discovery sessions to gather & prioritize requirements, understand desired business outcomes and define success criteria
  • Along with the Tech Leads, articulate to customer stakeholders the value of recommended solutions and approach
  • Provides input to sprint demos (incorporating the Why aspects of a given demo)
  • Contributes to UAT process (incorporating the Why aspects for testing, ensuring coverage of test plans)
  • Develops & delivers training sessions and/or performs knowledge transfer to client or Silverline training team members

Primary Responsibilities to the Internal Project Team

  • Represents the Client's needs to the internal project team, providing clarification and additional details as needed to support project execution
  • Contributes to discovery session agenda
  • Creates project deliverables including Process Flows, User Story Maps, User Stories
  • Collaborates with Senior QA on development of QA & UAT process, plans & scripts
  • Develops & oversees training curriculum preparation
  • Works with Silverline Engagement Project Manager and Coordinators to manage project scope, budget & timeline expectations
  • Collaborates with UX Design team on wireframes for Vlocity solutions

Primary Responsibilities to the Silverline Management

  • Share lessons learned to Solution Architect Center of Excellence lead to implement and improve BA processes
  • Share lessons learned to Vlocity Center of Excellence lead to implement and improve lessons learned
  • Share lessons learned to the Industry Principals to implement and improve industry specific best practices around discovery, backlog & story map best practices, etc.
  • Identifies opportunities for add-on work

Basic Requirements

  • BA/BS degree in Business, Computer Science or Engineering - or equivalent work experience
  • 7+ Professional Services consulting client experience
  • Proven ability to communicate and build relationships with business and technical audiences
  • Precise and effective customer communications and presentation skills
  • Understanding of technology application within business
  • A proven ability to manage multiple, competing priorities simultaneously
  • Understanding of key concepts of user centered design and design thinking
  • Experience with business process definition, best practices, and reengineering
  • Experience writing user stories to capture business requirements
  • Understanding of the key levers for B2B, B2C, hybrid business models
  • Great teamwork and collaboration skills
  • Desire to learn new things and mentor team members
  • Understanding of insurance policy lifecycle process (Prospecting, Quote to Bind, Claims)

Desired Skills/Certifications

  • Salesforce.com certification (Administrator, Sales Cloud or Service Cloud)
  • Vlocity Platform Foundations certification
  • Very strong customer facing skills
  • Knowledge of Financial Services, Insurance or Emerging Markets, preferred
