Parsons is seeking an Electrical Engineer (EE), Mechanical Engineer (ME), or Aerospace Engineer to support the Missile Defense Agency's (MDA) Terminal High Altitude Area Defense (THAAD) Missile Product Office (THM) as an on-site technical advisor for missile avionics and electronics. In this role the successful candidate will support the THM Chief Engineer (CE) and the THM Avionics/Electronics Division Chief's on-going efforts to support interceptor production and sustainment activities (failure investigations), as well as investigating potential weapon system improvements. Production activities include participating in supplier weekly Integrated Product Team (IPT) meetings, oversight of supplier activities, participating in Failure Review Boards (FRB), and Technical Evaluations. Long term improvement activities could include replacement/redesign of missile avionics and control components and subsystems and deal with requirements redefinition and/or analysis/selection of an existing alternatives, through component manufacturing and qualification.
Applicable, related experience in hardware engineering, test, production, and quality/mission assurance of weapon and/or space flight programs
Experience in technical program planning, execution, coordination
Able to perform duties on a wide range of engineering activities related to the production and sustainment of a major DoD weapon system.
Provide the THM CE and THM Avionics/Electronics Division Chief with assigned issue resolution progress and status
Review and obtain thorough understanding of Prime Contractor's Command Media, delivered plans and procedures, and assess compliance with Government requirements and directives when requested
Assist the THM Avionics/Electronics Division Chief as needed to coordinate meetings, facilitate Reviews and Technical Interchange Meetings; provide Executive Summaries, meeting minutes, and actions
Participate and provide input to Teleconferences as directed by the Government Customer (e.g. Weekly Staff Meetings, and other regularly scheduled meetings with the Prime contractor)
Obtain information from the Prime Contractor as requested by the Government Customer
Participate in selected Prime Contractor meetings and boards
Observe key manufacturing and test activities performed on-site or other locations in de-confliction with the Program's In-Plant Representative
Assist the Program's In-Plant Representative as needed
Coordinate with functional support (Mission Assurance, Quality, Safety (QSMA), and Logistics) to support the CE requirements
Facilitate Government IPTs and functional areas (QSMA, Logistics, Program Operations) as requested
Assist with Program Initiatives, become the Program POC at the Prime Contractor location for assigned activities
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering
Engineering experience in avionics and/or electrical systems
Program Operations experience
Experienced in working in a high intensity environment with minimal supervision
Travel as required to other locations (travel requirement ~25% of the time)
Prior MDA, DOD, or aerospace program experience
7+ years of Engineering experience
Aerospace manufacturing/production experience
Understanding of Systems Engineering principles
Experience working with a team of Engineers and Non-Engineers
Strong communication (oral and written) skills (i.e. PowerPoint, WORD, Excel)
Must be eligible to obtain and maintain, or currently possess Secret clearance.
