Air General, a national cargo handling company, is seeking a Lead Cargo Agent for our Charlotte Douglas International Airport operation. Customer service and warehouse duties include documentation, data entry, warehouse cargo handling, loading and unloading and above all, great customer service. Lead the staff in the performance of their warehouse duties, as well as strict adhere to safety and security procedures.
Total focus on safety and welfare of employees and those assigned to your care.
Process cargo and label correctly as per customer requirements.
Required to get forklift trained.
Load cargo on/off trucks or freight carts.
Prepare, sort, screen and/or breakdown cargo as needed or directed by Supervisor.
Ensure contours and labels for outbound pallets are properly checked for correctness.
Ensure breakdowns are completed within timely matter per prescribed time allowances, ensure piece counts are accurate.
Promptly report damage or malfunction of equipment, i.e. forklifts, scales, building elements, etc. to immediate supervisor.
Report any issues regarding your employees to your supervisor/manager.
Clean up and sweep warehouse, dispose garbage, general housekeeping.
Report any unsafe operation of warehouse vehicles and equipment.
Follow Hazmat and Security Requirements and Regulations.
Keep all work and ramp areas neat, clean, and orderly, including warehouse floor and dock door area. Areas must be free of debris and any other work safety hazards.
Challenge unauthorized persons entering non-public areas and report the incident to a manager.
Direct support to shift Supervisor, back-fill when supervisor is absent.
Assist with reports if necessary.
Any other duties as assigned by supervisor/management.
Must be able to pass all pre-employment screenings, background checks, and airport/government security background checks
Process customer paperwork and shipping information
High school diploma or GED preferred
Must possess a valid Driver License
Must be able to obtain valid airport I.D. badge.
Must be able to lift 70 pounds
Must be at least 18 years of age
Must have basic computer skills
Must be able to work varied shifts
Must possess the ability to read, write, fluently speak and understand English
Must be available to work any assigned and varied shifts, including nights, and occasionally on weekends, and holidays
Must have good customer service skills and work well with all staff and customer
