Maintenance Technician wanted to help with the upkeep of an affordable housing property. This role has first line responsibility for rapidly turning over vacant units in a high quality way, for the care, cleaning, security, lighting, upkeep and maintenance of the property, providing resident service request response and maintaining and caring for equipment and building performance and maintaining and care for equipment and building performance, upgrades, improvements, repairs, and replacements, and managing vendors to ensure consistent, cost effective and quality service.
The maintenance technician will focus on basic maintenance work, painting, cleaning, and grounds upkeep. Specific tasks that the maintenance technician may be assigned include, but are not limited to, complete minor and routine service requests, plumbing, painting, snow removal, grounds upkeep, garbage removal, etc.
The primary goal of the position include: 1. Maintain occupancy 2. Maintain systems equipment and facility (clean, safe, as-new condition) 3. Maintain compliance 4. Maintain positive and professional relations 5. Uphold property organization and cleanliness standards 6. Assist with special projects
Work schedule is Monday through Friday 8AM-4:30PM and on-call to respond to emergencies, as needed.
$35-42,000 & efficiency apartment (optional) based on experience

The person will be steady and dependable along with good at maintaining personal/professional boundaries while working. Extensive mobility and excellent physical condition is needed for this position. Ability to live 100 lbs. is necessary for installation and removal of appliances. Ability to operate all necessary hand tools to make repairs. Ability to crouch, climb, craw, etc. to reach items in need of repairs. The maintenance technician should be knowledgeable and skilled in the safe use of cleaning fluids, hand tools (various wrenches, hammer, grips, saws, snips, posthole diggers, etc.), and user-moved aids (wheelbarrows, dollies, hand trucks, buckets, jacks, step ladders, full ladders, etc.). Tolerance to all extremes of hot and hold weather, as may be necessary given the situation.
3+ years work experience in basic maintenance work, plumbing, painting, cleaning and grounds work required.
