Job Summary

The AFRC Production Control Supervisor provides oversight, instruction, and supervision of Production Control and Data Technicians.

Principal Accountabilities
  • Maintain automated records pertaining to aircraft modifications, aircraft components, TBO component history, ground support, and calibrated equipment records.
  • Oversee, instruct, and supervise technicians to provide accurate daily reports of aircraft, ground support equipment, and component readiness.
  • Ensure that periodic reports are provided to the Maintenance Manager for scheduled maintenance inspections and TBO projections as provide in AWIS.
  • Train, counsel, certify, and evaluate Production Control Technicians and Data Technicians to meet program objectives.
  • Document the training, counseling, certification and appraisals of assigned employees.
  • Ensure compliance with aircraft record keeping procedures.
  • Enforce "by-the-book" maintenance and safety procedures.
  • Monitor the calibration of special tools and test equipment.
  • Analyze historical data to assist management with reports and charts.
  • Compute data for Daily Status Reporting to Upper Management. Compute data for monthly "Director's Comments".
  • Prepare monthly major component lists and develop repair plans including estimates for man-hours and repair parts costs.
  • Accurately report aircraft assignment and aircraft history.
  • Maintain historical log of approved requests for depot repair, controlled exchange, and cannibalization.
  • Responsible for the accurate reporting of aircraft assigned to the program and depot repair/modification facilities.
  • Initiate and process work orders.
  • Perform other qualified duties as assigned.

Knowledge & Skills
  • CMF 63 Mechanical Maintenance MOS series or other military/commercial equivalent.
  • Able to apply advanced technical knowledge to solve complex problems that frequently cannot be resolved solely by referencing manuals.
  • Expert in Microsoft Office software.
  • Expertise in Air Wing Information Systems, aircraft maintenance, logistics, and training modules.
  • Basic knowledge of US Federal Aviation Administration Regulations regarding aircraft maintenance, production control, and record keeping.
  • Possess a current US Passport or the ability to obtain one before assignment.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Moderate Risk Public Trust (MRPT) through Department of State Background Investigation as a condition of employment. A current MRPT is desired.

Experience & Education
  • Three (3) or more year's aircraft readiness reporting or aircraft/avionics repair with two (2) or more years' experience in Logistics is preferred.
  • Previous supervisory experience preferred.
  • High school Diploma or equivalent.

Physical Requirements/Working Environment
  • Must be able to walk and stand on level and/or inclined surfaces for up to twelve (12) hours per day and sit for up to eight (8) hours per day.
  • Must possess physical dexterity and coordination to qualify for Federal Aviation Administration Commercial Pilot Certificate.
  • Must be able to distinguish color and judge three-dimensional depth.
  • Must be able to climb stairs.
  • Must be able to read and interpret newspaper and typewritten print, maps, aeronautical charts, and weather charts.
  • Must be able to grasp or handle objects, use finger dexterity, bend elbow/knee and reach above/below shoulders.
  • Must be able to see aircraft in flight, read dials/gauges, identify small objects and hand tools.
  • Must meet or exceed Federal Aviation Administration minimum visual acuity and hearing standards for Class II medical certificate.
  • Must be physically capable of climbing vertical ladders or built-in aircraft steps to heights of 10-12 feet.
  • May be exposed to chemical mist, gas, vapors, ultra-violet and infrared radiation.
  • May be required to lift up to 50 pounds to a height of four (4) feet and be required to lift up to 20 pounds to a height of seven (7) feet.
  • The work conditions are normally those of a standard office environment where there is little physical discomfort.
  • May be exposed to certain obstructions on the surface as well as ladders, stairs, etc.
  • May be exposed to rapid or extreme temperature changes.
  • During the performance of duties outside the office environment, the diversity of work conditions may range from an environment where there is little or no physical discomfort, to an environment where inclement weather may subject individual to changes in temperature and weather.
  • May be exposed to areas where high noise hazards prevail.
  • May be exposed to fumes or airborne particles; may be exposed to electrical shock hazards or work near moving mechanical parts.

Travel
  • Travel to and between Domestic and International locations as requested is required.
