Job Description

Watermark is seeking a motivated, career and customer-oriented Nuclear Weapons Analyst to join our team in Arlington, Virginia to provide unparalleled support to our customer and to begin an exciting and rewarding career. This position provides Advisory and Assistance Services (A&AS) to the Department of Defense (DoD)/Department of Energy (DOE) Joint Atomic Information Exchange Group through the Defense Threat Reduction Agency (DTRA), Nuclear Technologies Department. The Joint Atomic Information Exchange Group (JAIEG) has been established as the central agency for the Department of Defense and Department of Energy to review and, as appropriate, authorize the communication of atomic information to other nations or international organizations for mutual defense purposes.

In this role you will...

  • Monitor scientific and technical activities conducted by the DoD, DOE/National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA) laboratories and production facilities in collaboration with foreign governments and regional defense organizations
  • Review submitted documentation and/or media to apply provisions of applicable national and international security regulations and policies concerning the transfer of information
  • Prepare technical reports to officially record the information exchanged; and manage an internal information database system regarding scheduled exchanges of information between the U.S. and foreign governments
  • This position also provides transmissibility training for DoD and DOE personnel and supports efforts to continuous process improvement


  • Bachelor’s degree in nuclear physics, nuclear engineering, or a related discipline with at least five years relevant experience.
  • Experience in handling and protecting classified information up to Top Secret / Restricted Data (NATO and foreign government information also desirable).
  • Experience with the Department of Defense (DOD)/Department of Energy (DOE) participation under the Atomic Energy Act of 1954 and the 1958 United States (U.S.)/United Kingdom (UK) Mutual Defense Agreement is desired.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and ability to coordinate and integrate different customer requirements.
  • Ability to adapt quickly to changing policy and procedural requirements.
  • Proficient in office productivity software use.
  • Travel is required (10% to 25%).
  • A DoD Top Secret clearance (or equivalent) and ability to obtain SCI access
