POSITION DESCRIPTION Company: Vighter Medic--al Group LLC Title: Rehabilitation- Speech and Language Pathologist (SLP), Home Care Position Type: Contract 13 Week Assignment Location: Lebanon, PA Reports to: Project Manager Shift Type: Days, 8 hour days, 40 hours per week, no on call, no weekends Job Summary: Vighter is recruiting a contract speech and language pathologist that under general supervision, evaluates home health patients regarding the application of a wide variety of therapeutic techniques for rehabilitation of speech, language, hearing, and oral motor disorders according to the principles and practices of speech therapy at an entry to intermediate skills level. Works collaboratively with the interdisciplinary treatment team. Candidates cannot be considered if they have been employed as a perm hire at any Wellspan site within the last year. Principle Accountabilities:
Examines, tests, diagnoses and administers remedial treatments for patients with speech, hearing, and swallowing disorders.
Performs home evaluations with special attention to receptive and expressive language skills, speech fluency, vocal and oral motor competence, articulation and auditory skills and reports on patient's progress for review by other members of the rehabilitative team.
Provides instructions in therapeutic procedures to be continued by the patient.
Coordinates speech-language pathology activities in collaboration with the other members of the interdisciplinary team to facilitate achievement of goals established.
Conducts or participates in training medical and nursing personnel in speech-language pathology techniques and objectives.
Utilizes safe patient handling techniques for all patient transfers, lifts, and positioning.
Current PA SLP/ST license Required
BLS certification (from American Heart Association) Required
Must have own means of transportation, CLEAN driving record, and a working cell phone Required

WellSpan Requires the Flu Vaccine from October 1 - March 31
Must be authorized to work for any employer in the USA
Shall not have been convicted of a felony
Shall be able to read, write, and speak English
Shall be able to operate a personal computer utilizing Microsoft applications, such as Explorer, Outlook, Word, Excel, etc. so as to efficiently create and/or utilize an Electronic Medical Record
Bachelor's / Master's Degree in Speech Therapy at an accredited site Required
1 Year of Home Health experience (within the last 3 years) Required
Physical Requirements/Working Environment
Must be able to sit for more than 8 hours per day
Must be willing to work overtime if necessary
Must be able to use an elevator or walk up and down stairs
Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds and carry up to 10 feet
Must be able to routinely grasp or handle objects, use finger dexterity, bend elbows/knees and reach above and below shoulders
Must be able to read and interpret handwritten and typewritten print
Must be able to communicate by voice and detect sound by ear
Must be able to pass a criminal background investigation
Must be able to pass a 5-panel urine drug screen
