POSITION DESCRIPTION Company: Vighter Medic--al Group LLC Title: Registered Nurse - Cath Lab Position Type: Contract 13 Week Assignment (Temp to potential hire) Location: Lansing, Michigan Reports to: Project Manager Shift Type: Afternoons, 10am-6:30 pm, 8-hour days, afternoons/variable per census, but 1000 to 1830 average, may go later due to changing block times in Cath Lab, no weekends, no on call Job Summary: Vighter is recruiting a contract Registered Nurse to perform Cath Lab duties at McClaren Greater Lansing. Cath Lab nurses monitor patients during their recovery in the Cath Lab , monitor the patient's vital signs, administer medications and update the patient's chart. During the recovery period, the Cath Lab nurse watches for signs of infection or side effects from the procedure. Our nurses have experience with these types of cases: heart caths, coronary and peripheral angioplasties and stents, lytics, embolization, impella patient management, structural heart-ASD and VSD repairs, TEEs/Cardioversions, tilt table testing, pacers and ICDs, EP studies, complex ablations, thoracenteses, paracenteses, and tunneled cath placements. Principle Accountabilities:
  • Consults and coordinates with health care team members to assess, plan, implement and evaluate patient care plans
  • To provide proper care, patient evaluation and education for both in and out patients following prescribe schedules, physician orders, competencies, protocols and utilizing proper equipment and procedures.
  • Responsibilities include circulating and monitoring diagnostic and interventional procedures, device implants and basic electrophysiology studies, administering sedation per physician order, restocking supplies, assisting in patient prep and instructing patients in Catheterization and Angioplasty procedures, and assisting with TEEsf and cardioversions.
Credentialing Requirements:
  • Current unrestricted Michigan license to practice as a registered nurse
  • BLS certification (from American Heart Association)
  • ACLS certification (from American Heart Association)
  • Dress Code: grey scrubs
  • Must be authorized to work for any employer in the USA
  • Shall not have been convicted of a felony
  • Shall be able to read, write, and speak English
  • Shall be able to operate a personal computer utilizing Microsoft applications, such as Explorer, Outlook, Word, Excel, etc. so as to efficiently create and/or utilize an Electronic Medical Record
Education:
  • Evidence of graduation from baccalaureate, associate, or diploma nursing program in nursing for registered nurse.
Experience:
  • Previous Cath Lab experience Required
  • Strong Cardiac Proficiency Required
  • Holding Experience- Pre and Post Care Required
  • Phillips and Cerner Preferred

Physical Requirements/Working Environment
  • Must be able to sit for more than 8 hours per day
  • Must be willing to work overtime if necessary
  • Must be able to use an elevator or walk up and down stairs
  • Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds and carry up to 10 feet
  • Must be able to routinely grasp or handle objects, use finger dexterity, bend elbows/knees and reach above and below shoulders
  • Must be able to read and interpret handwritten and typewritten print
  • Must be able to communicate by voice and detect sound by ear
  • Must be able to pass a criminal background investigation
  • Must be able to pass a urine drug screen
