POSITION DESCRIPTION Company: Vighter Medic--al Group LLC Title: Dental Hygienist Position Type: Contract 13 Week Assignment or temp to perm or perm Location: Mancelona, MI Reports to: Project Manager Shift Type: Days, 8:00am-4:30pm, 8 hours, Monday-Friday during clinic hours, closed for all major holidays (part-time 24-hour guarantee), no weekend requirements, no on call requirements Job Summary: Vighter is recruiting a contract dental hygienist to assist the doctor in documenting the current clinical condition and recommending treatment to provide the appropriate level of clinical care at Dental Clinics North-Mancelona. The registered dental hygienist promotes dental health through the direct delivery of oral hygiene and appropriate preventative services. Principle Accountabilities:
Perform root planning.
Update patient health history and all required information.
Dental charting existing restorations and missing teeth.
Periodontal charting annually as PSR indicates.
Placement of sub gingival medicaments as available.
Take patient's blood pressure.
Take impressions for diagnostic models.
Presentation of initial findings and recommended periodontal treatment.
Confidently answer patient questions regarding any necessary treatment, give oral hygiene instructions to patients.
Enter treatment performed and treatment plans in the chart.
Assist in recare scheduling.
Disinfect operatory and sterilize instruments.
Assist the Doctor, Dental Assistants and Front Desk Staff as needed.
Polish dental restorations.
Assist in the triage and treatment of emergency patients.
Administer local anesthetic.
Obtains baseline oral hygiene assessment data based upon accepted principles of oral hygiene and periodontal care.
Develop preliminary treatment plans for clients prior to Drs exam. Review treatment plans with client and explain options available.
Provides clinical oral hygiene services including dental x-rays, prophylaxis, scaling, sealant and/or fluoride application consistent with accepted professional practices and standards and in compliance with applicable state laws and agency protocols.
Responsible for inventory control and ordering hygiene materials following established purchasing procedures.
Insures the proper disposal of all contaminated or potentially contaminated materials in accordance with the Dental Department directives and agency policy as well as state and federal rules and regulations.
