Mechanical Process Design Engineer - Wastewater Systems - Atlanta

We are looking for a Mechanical Engineering Lead for our wastewater systems practice in Atlanta, one that can collaborate across disciplines, and understands how to design and deliver leading edge Water/Wastewater projects. In this role, youwillwork with treatment plant Operationsand Maintenance staff to manage and review mechanical engineering deliverables, such as HVAC equipment and systems, for code compliance and/or physical or program deficiencies that would require capital expenditures. Additionally, you may interact and coordinate projects with design, construction, planning, and other related discipline leads. You may be asked to review mechanical engineering documents, codes, project cost estimates, as well as statements of work. In addition, you may be involved with supporting as-built engineering functions as the wastewater treatment projects move from design into construction phases. Candidate must also work well within a team dynamic and serve as a technical consultant to the client. Some experience with treatment process is expected, andexperience with wastewater treatment plants is necessary.

Independently develops and/or supervises the creation of engineering products that meet customer quality requirements supporting wastewater systems. This includes defining the problem, establishing the work scope, preparing the budget and schedule, planning the work, providing technical direction, and reporting the work status.
Typical assignments may include operations and maintenance manuals, design review, presentation preparation, conducting on-site training of personnel, detailed calculations, drawings, procurement documents, design and installation packages, proposal evaluations, technical reports, and detailed analyses.
Coordinates with other team members to ensure schedules, budgets, and quality control standards are achieved.
Assist in developing and growing our business by leverage your technical expertise and market relationships.
Oversee and direct multi-disciplined teams.
Provides support for other engineering activities as required. May supervise one or more subordinates and provide input regarding performance.
Works at treatment plant, interfacing directly with Operations and Maintenance staff.
4-year degree in Mechanical Engineering (or related field)
10+ years of related work experience in designing water/ wastewater systemsis required.
Experience with mechanical operations for wastewater systems is essential.
Georgia PE license or the ability to obtain a Georgia PE license within 6 monthsis required.
Proficiency in utilizing CAD and other PC software packages typically associated with engineering is required.
