A career within Private Company services, will provide the opportunity to help private companies with a range of business advisory needs such as audit, tax compliance, and planning to help improve their operational efficiency and to free up time that can be spent focusing on business strategy. You'll have the opportunity to experience the entire business life cycle of a private company from inception to growth, maturity and transition.
Our team helps our clients design and implement personal and customised service plans that are unique to privately owned entities, entrepreneurs, and high net worth individuals. You'll be assisting the team focus on key issues like wealth management, compliance, cash flow management, equity expansion, divestiture and exit strategies.
As an Associate, you'll work as part of a team of problem solvers with extensive consulting and industry experience, helping our clients solve their complex business issues from strategy to execution. Specific responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Proactively assist the team in various aspects of the project
Contribute to the development of your own and team's technical acumen
Keep up to date with local and national business and economic issues
Ensure you are adhering to compliance matters
Work on developing internal relationships and your PwC brand
Job Requirements and Preferences:
Minimum Degree Required: Bachelor Degree
Required Fields of Study: Accounting
Minimum Years of Experience: 1 year(s)
Degree Preferred: Master Degree
Preferred Fields of Study: Accounting
Certification(s) Preferred: Before starting with PwC full time, will be eligible to sit for the primary credential exam appropriate for the appropriate practice area, such as having 150 credit hours to sit for the CPA exam in certain states.
Preferred Knowledge/Skills: Some knowledge and exposure to the common business and accounting issues facing non-publicly traded companies in the manufacturing, distribution and services industry. These issues include but are not limited to: mergers and acquisitions, divestitures, joint ventures and (re)financing. Technical knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles in the United States (U.S. GAAP).
Demonstrates some proven abilities and/or record of success as a team member within the US Assurance practice of a global network of professional services consulting firms, including, but not limited to, the following dimensions of the PwC Professional: Technical Capabilities - Demonstrating and applying foundational knowledge of the technical accounting and financial reporting standards under the GAAP, GAAS, and PCAOB; - Applying applicable auditing standards when performing auditing work, taking proactive steps to be familiar with the firm's audit methodology and guidance; - Elevating potential issues on a timely basis after gathering key facts; - Leveraging team members and appropriate technical resources to assist in resolutions; - Taking pride and responsibility for the quality of work and performing critical self-reviews; - Demonstrating professional skepticism, independence, and objectivity; and, - Seeking proactively the advice of supervisors and responding to feedback in a timely manner. Business Acumen - Leveraging know-how of business financials, reports and profitability levers; - Considering current issues facing the markets and relevant industries, including technology developments; - Performing research, analysis, and structured problem-solving using a range of tools and techniques; and, - Demonstrating critical thinking, bringing order to unstructured problems. Global Acumen - Developing know-how of the implications of globalization, including key business trends and developments; and, - Incorporating proactive, individualized career planning goals to build awareness of cultural dexterity and global business, and, asking clarifying questions and/or researching the answers, as appropriate. Leadership - Working comfortably across differences, especially with change and ambiguity; - Asking regularly for in-the-moment feedback and taking action on it; and, - Demonstrating a strong work ethic and delivering high-quality results on time.
