Job Description

Employment Status: Full-time, Temporary "Non-exempt" position (with the possibility of converting to permanent).

Work Schedule: Summer: Monday through Thursday, 7:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.; Regular: Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Under the direction of the Assistant Dean of the College of Extended and Global Education (CEGE), the incumbent will be responsible for planning, organizing, and managing the daily operations of self-support programs, such as International Extension Programs (IEP) and other short-term programs.

In accordance with International Extension Programs (IEP) guidelines, duties may include, but are not limited to:

  • Provides timely and accurate pre-arrival information, develops program outlines, identify and recruit faculty; coordinates program logistics and support staff and student assistants, and evaluates program outcomes.
  • Provides program reports and conducts other administrative functions that support successful program delivery and continuous program growth.
  • Coordinates program activities and ceremonies.
  • Demonstrates strong management skills to promote programs, online marketing, create and maintain student/faculty databases and keep track of programs and participants.
  • Evaluates and recommend changes for daily operational and procedural matters.
  • Ensures the maintenance and accuracy of student data.
  • Will act as the liaison with the International Admissions Office, and assist with conditional admission processes.
  • Coordinates on-campus housing and 3-rd party Homestay provider housing options.
  • Provides instructional support by assisting academic coordinators with class scheduling, maintaining attendance, and issuing attendance letters for immigration.
  • Serves as a backup Designated School Official (DSO) for IEP.
  • Serves as a main English-Arabic translator for IEP.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree, preferably with courses in adult education and curriculum planning AND two years of experience in planning classes or programs in a specialized field or area, preferably in higher, extended, or adult education.
  • Teaching experience in higher or extended education may be substituted for experience on a year-for-­year basis.

Desirable Qualifications:

  • Native Arabic fluency is preferred.
  • Experience developing resources, budgets, and marketing plans for educational programs and in acting as a liaison with the community is desirable.
  • Experience in working with SEVIS and handling immigration issues is preferred.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Knowledge of the procedures and practices in educational program and curriculum planning; resources of the campus and the surrounding community; and the processes required to plan and construct academic programs and course outlines.
  • Ability to determine needs for new or revised programs; plan course hours and credit; develop course outlines with instructors; locate instructors and to assist them in understanding and completing contract arrangements; develop budgets and analyze costs; write promotional materials and to develop a variety of promotional techniques; represent the CSU system to the community and develop working relationships; manage logistics of providing classes; and maintain cost information and records.
  • Excellent oral and written English communication skills are required.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite programs is required.
