Job Description

Title: Technician - UT
Duration: 13 months with potential hire or extension
Location: Salt Lake City, UT
Pay Rate: $20.00/hr on w2 with no benefits

May be required to be available 24 x 7 via phone or pager, work alternate shifts, rotate in an on-call status.

Description:
• Provides technical support to customers on operational or maintenance aspects of system equipment. Serves as customer contact on technical and service related problems. Diagnoses mechanical, hardware, software and systems failures using established procedures. Determines most cost-effective repair/resolution to minimize customer downtime. Prepares reports for analysis of product failure trends and service ability issues. Is a skilled worker with a number of coordinating tasks. Gives support in field service process renewal. Assignments are carried out in a professional way according to quality requirements and are finished in time. Able to travel to other facilities in Salt Lake City valley to perform medical maintenance operations.

CUSTOMER SATISFACTION:
• Responsible for identification and resolution of customer issues, providing the customer with the appropriate communication and involving appropriate site service personnel. Maintaining customer satisfaction is the primary goal. Therefore, the BMET must demonstrate ownership in difficult circumstances and show a sense of urgency about delivering results, ability to establish the priorities of the moment by assessing the priorities communicated by the Site Manager, the Site Team or the customer.
TEAMWORK:
• Performs a wide variety of tasks and changes focus quickly as demands change. Adapt to varying customer needs. Initiates and facilitates change and explains why. Seeks out, develops/facilitates and shares best practices.

COMPLIANCE:
• Operate under the required knowledge of regulatory requirements, performance standards, policies, customer policies, and safety requirements (electrical & radiation safety, safe lifting practices, etc.).

TECHNICAL:
• Able to perform as a primary BMET for multiple medical specialties. Maintains knowledge of technical advances and current industry trends.

LEADERSHIP:
• Takes a leadership role in the repair / solution of technical / product problems plus has additional responsibility to instruct the primary BMET in the repair / solution process utilized

Job Requirements

  • Education: Associate’s degree, military training, or academic work aligned with AAMI’s Core Competencies for the Biomedical Equipment Technician, and a basic knowledge of mathematics, anatomy, physiology, biology, physics, chemistry, medical terminology, English, computer and networking peripherals, and professional skills.
  • Minimum 1-2 years servicing medical equipment; Experience with Sterilizer, Ventilator and Anesthesia equipment strongly preferred.
  • Experience with mechanical devices and tools and test equipment. Must possess demonstrated skills in using an oscilloscope, digital multimeter, etc.
