Job Description

We are currently looking for a Senior Specialist  to join the ENERCON Team in Abu Dhabi, UAE.  

Brief Scope of Work:

Perform duties to support internal/external oversight evaluations (WANO/IAEA/NSRB/CNP/ Operational Readiness Exercises) on Units 1 through 4 for fuel load milestones to the assigned functional area. This includes supporting Nawah functions readiness and response to external oversight evaluations. Through the assessment of current performance, assistance and guidance to functions through the external oversight process and provision of robust challenge and oversight on the content and delivery of corrective action plans to close Operational performance gaps.

Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

(1) Support Operational Readiness

  • Through self-assessments, reviews, Operational Exercise Assessments and observations, develop policies, plans and procedures for the effective management of external oversight
  • Assist the development and maintenance of performance metrics to measure the effectiveness of functional response to findings and recommendations to gap closure.

(2) External Support and Review

  • Oversee all aspects of external oversight evaluations, to include:
  •  Scheduling, coordination, reporting and follow-up to external oversight evaluations of functional areas
  •  Ongoing training, guidance and support to functional areas
  •  Develop information packages for external review teams
  •  Develop and obtain approval for functional self-assessment plans
  •  Conduct self-assessments and develop self-assessment reports
  •  Coordinate analysis of issues and development of effective corrective actions
  •  Coordinate demonstration of effective close-out for external oversight related findings
  •  Provide periodic updates to management including key performance indicators.

(3) Health and Safety and Security

  • Follow all relevant company's Health and Safety policies, processes, procedures and instructions to ensure Health and Safety compliance In all aspects of work per sound management practices by applying these Health and Safety policiesand procedures to self and others to take reasonable care for the Health and safety of people, or the environment, who are at the employee's piece of work who may be affected by the employees acts or omissions .at work
  • Follow all relevant Security policies, processes, procedures and instructions to ensure security compliance In all aspects of work, by applying them on self, others and Corporate assets.
  •  Ensure compliance with corporate requirements for adherence to policies, procedures and instructions related to Crisis Management and Business Continuity in order to continue mission critical activities.

(4) People Management

  • Contribute to the development of UAE National employees in a manner, which supports the objectives of the corporation and its Emiratization strategy
  • Continue to knowledge dissemination/sharing in a way that assists with building internal capabilities of UAE Nationals where applicable and maximize their effective performance
  • Developing and motivating Nawah staff by providing constructive feed-back and appraisal in order to maximize performance

(5) Stakeholder Engagement

  • Facilitate internal and external communications to build and nurture mutually beneficial working relationships
  • Develop strong working relationships with key management positions and at the working level based on trust, mutual respect, and technical competence

(6) Excellence and Quality Management

  • Ensure commitment to a culture of continuous improvement by eliminating waste, following operations procedures, practicing innovation, problem solving, and teamwork: complying with Quality Management System policies and procedures; providing and receiving constructive feedback, and striving to meet quality standards and stakeholder expectations
  • Ensure commitment to the Nawah Fundamentals

Academic Qualification and Experience

  • Minimum Bachelor Degree in Business Administration, Science, or Engineering with 5 years of relevant or equivalent experience

Work locations

  • Primarily Barakah (BNPP), may require occasional and infrequent visits to Abu Dhabi
