Job Description

Blue Moon Mobile RV (BMMR) has been in business since 1996 and is expanding its recreational vehicle (RV) repair technician team. We are looking for master certified RV technicians and trainees for immediate openings. We value initiative honesty, integrity, accountability, and fun. BMMR Technician position is to examine, troubleshoot and diagnose service / maintenance issues with class A, B, C, travel trailers, fifth wheels, food trucks, custom build outs, to include all on board systems needing repair and maintenance. This includes install of new and custom applications and appliances. While basic knowledge of engines, chassis and suspension is helpful, we do not generally work on these items.

Job Requirements

a. Education:
     i. Required: High school diploma or the equivalent,
     ii. Preferred: RV service training such as factory training, service schools and certification programs through attendance of a trade collage or through distance learning. Electrical experience, handyman, HVAC, Millwright.

b. Experience
     i. Required:
        1. Strong mechanical aptitude demonstrated in previous positions
    ii. Preferred: Welding, RV manufacturing, trailer repair, RV service, propane systems
        1. Hands on experience in a shop environment
        2. Strong knowledge of tools
        3. Experience with 12 volt DC and 120 volt AC diagnosis

c. Tools
     i. ¼”-1 ¼” open box wrench set (metric, too)

     iv. Digital Volt / Ohm Meter
     v. Amp meter

e. Physical
     i. Body Positions: The employee frequently is required to reach with hands and arms and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, and confined spaces.
     ii. Body Movements: Good manual dexterity and balance while working off the ground to heights of 20 feet; occasionally required to stand, walk, sit, climb or balance, talk or hear, and or smell. Climbing – Ascending or descending ladders, stairs, scaffolding, ramps, poles and the like, up to 25 feet in height, using feet and legs and/or hands and arms. Body agility is emphasized.
     iii. Strength: The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.
     iv. Vision: Visual acuity required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus, with the ability to see color.
     v. Auditory: ability to distinguish sounds.
     vi. Olfactory: ability to distinguish smells.

f. Mental
     i. Mathematical: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
          ii. Language: English, speak fluently
          iii. Mechanical: Mechanical, electrical and electronics aptitude; troubleshooting and problem-solving capabilities
          iv. Spatial: strong spatial relationships

     a. Climate: Full exposure to Texas weather
     b. Travel:
          i. Mobile tech: daily, in town driving, occasional training
          ii. Shop tech: ongoing training, self paced and scheduled.
     c. Hours: Monday through Friday, 8:00a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
     d. Hazards: exposure to chemicals (fuel, adhesives, fluids, etc), rodents and human waste.
