In this job you will…. 

The Technical Project Manager provides Advisory and Assistance Services (A&AS) to the Defense Threat Reduction Agency (DTRA), Nuclear Technologies Department, developing state-of-the-art integrated, cloud-ready, cross-cutting platforms, applications, and data analysis AI-enhanced capabilities to support the full spectrum of nuclear modeling and simulation tools, war gaming, and assessments.   

The successful candidate will assist our customer to develop, guide and monitor all aspects of cost, schedule, administration and performance of scalable, highly available application solutions.  Provide deep software development knowledge with respect to DEVSECOPS, Agile, cloud architecture, design patterns, and programming; define application architectures that provide security, scalability, fault tolerance and optimal performance; and transform monolithic applications to a more modular, microservices architecture. 

Responsibilities include researching new requirements, conducting market research, and translating technology areas and concepts to share best-practice knowledge and improve internal processes across the organization.   Provide advice and facilitate government acquisition actions, including statement of work development, proposal evaluation, budget planning and execution, and monitoring contractor performance.  


  • Bachelor of Science plus 5 years of relevant experience, or Master of Science plus 3 years of relevant experience in Computer Science, Engineering, Physics, or relevant field. 
  • Ability to work with multiple programming languages (Java, C, XML/HTML, JavaScript, PHP, MySQL, Oracle SQL*PLUS, Windows, Linux, Unix, Junit). 
  • Experience with modeling nuclear phenomena is desired. 
  • Experience in writing software and operationalizing it for deployment to DoD systems. 
  • Experience with federal government policy and standards under the Risk Management Framework. 
  • Level II or III Program Management Certification and/or Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is desired.   
  • Ability to translate requirements and observations into clearly defined written products (briefings, reports, White Papers) in short timeframes. 
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.   
  • Travel is required (10%).   
  • A DoD Secret clearance is required Must have or be able to obtain TS/SCI.
