We are looking for a Principal Analytics Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will be the lead to architect our data warehouse to support both core healthcare plan (medicare advantage) metrics and product metrics. As a senior engineer, you will be a strong technical voice to build foundational datasets, robust pipelines and best practices, and data governance initiatives related to the data warehouse. This role will be a significant contributor to shaping the nascent analytics engineering team and defining technical direction for the data warehouse.

As a Principal Analytics Engineer, you will:

  • Working closely with cross-functional partners (Data, Product, Operations, Executives), architect a significant portion of our data warehouse data structures and business intelligence capabilities which enable short term business use-cases as well as long-term, reliable self-service
  • Translate business requirements into data models that are easy to understand and used by different disciplines across the company
  • Design and implement robust pipelines in SQL and Python that scale our analytical data sets and workflows with measurable quality and consistent SLA's
  • With data analysts, formulate and implement a strategy for maintaining company metrics with a clear definition and data lineage
  • Be a champion for technical best practices, as well as overall strategy for data governance, security, privacy, quality and retention as it pertains to the data warehouse

  • You have a genuine interest in what good technology can do to help people and have a positive attitude about tackling hard problems in an important industry

You should get in touch if:

  • You have experience standing up a data warehouse or analytics engineering team (almost) from scratch; ideally, you have worked in both traditional healthcare environments as well as startups and can adopt your approach accordingly
  • You have significant experience working with and designing the architecture and access patterns for a large scale business intelligence tool (Tableau and likes)
  • You have demonstrated track record of impacting business trajectory through the delivery of data warehousing capabilities and exceptional cross-functional communication
  • You have strong SQL skills and knowledge of databases, and can work your way around in Python or similar general programming language
  • You love data as a product, and enjoy working with different stakeholders to build data workflow and data sets that truly unlock the value of data for decision making and creating business leverage
