The MPC Los Angeles Refinery is currently seeking applicants to fill full-time Electrician/Electrical Technician positions.
Electricians/Electrical Technicians install, maintain and repair electrical wiring, electrical components, controls, equipment and fixtures.
Troubleshoots and repairs electrical equipment
Troubleshoots and repairs Distributed Control Systems (DCS) and PLCs
Performs maintenance per established written procedures. Uses drawings, equipment manuals, procedures, and proper tools to troubleshoot and repair equipment
Documents work performed in test forms and condition reports
Marks up drawings for as-built revision by drafting based upon field inspection
Terminates motor connections
Troubleshoots motor controls
Reads schematics and logic diagrams
Conducts high voltage switching and grounding distribution systems
Conducts electrical testing and inspections
Uploads and downloads field data
Reads loop diagrams, logic diagrams, P&IDs
Programmable logic control experience
Reviews and re-writes procedures for electrical work
NO Security Clearance
Minimum High School or GED
Minimum 5 years’ experience as an Electrician /Electrical Technician in refining, chemical, power industry, or related military experience
Journeyman level qualified
Good communication skills
Basic computer skills (Word, Excel, etc.)
Successful completion of a skills assessment
Schedule: Electrical Technicians work a 4 day/10 hour per day schedule and must be available for overtime.
Pay and Benefits: Starting rate for a qualified journeyman is $44.82 per hour with highly competitive benefits including retirement and medical. This is a represented position.
All Maintenance Craft positions work in various environmental conditions in the refinery, including but not limited to indoors such maintenance shops, outdoors in open areas, process units, at heights, underground and confined spaces. Must be able to stand, walk, lift and carry 30 to 50-pounds. Safety-sensitive work environment that requires compliance with pre-employment physical and drug & alcohol screening, along with a continuous random drug & alcohol testing program.
