Job Description

Summary To organize and perform technical duties related to machine set-up and operation. This includes, but is not limited to, troubleshooting, setup, and maintenance of the molding equipment and tooling, as well as pad printer, smart drillers, accu-cutter, cryogenic deflashing machine and other equipment on the production floor as deemed necessary. This position will be working in a regulated environment, following ISO13485 Quality System Requirements.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Reads blueprint or workorder for product specifications such as dimensions, tolerances, and color as well as tooling instructions such as fixtures, SUP’s etc.

Start-up of presses, pumps and molding machinery.

Verifies all tooling for set-up and operates machine and equipment to ensure correct placement of molding inserts, pneumatic release fixtures, etc.

Runs molding operation when setting up the press and completes required documentation, including processing/press adjustments, etc.

Responsible for trouble shooting and adjustments through production according to SUPs, to ensure product meets specification and documentation requirements.

Document set-up scrap and ensure Mapics transactions are completed.

Verify tooling acceptability. Notify Sr. Set-up Technician of any problems or issues.

Performs daily checks on air compressors and chillers.

Preventative maintenance of molding machines, pumps and presses.

Press tear down and change over, including cleaning and restocking of all parts.

Maintain order and keep molding machine area clean.

Sample new tools (when required).

Mixes and replenishes raw materials to the presses for increased runtime.

Set-up and clean-up of Pad Printer.

Set-up of Cryogenic deflashing machine.

Set-up of Technical Innovations Smart Driller Machine

Completes all SUPS and other related documentation as required.

Follows all safety policies and procedures.

Other duties may be assigned or revised as required.

Education and/or Experience High school diploma or general education degree (GED); advanced technical training or experience in molding one to three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Language Skills Ability to read and interpret documents in English such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups.

Mathematical Skills Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.

Reasoning Ability Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variable in situations where only Limited standardizations exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, Diagram, or schedule form.

Computer Skills Ability to utilize Database Software such as FilemakerPro, Manufacturing software such as XA and Microsoft Office.
