Job Description

Broad Overview:

Primary responsibilities include technical support and customer support for end-user. The IT Technicians role is to support and maintain hardware and software computer systems, desktops, and peripherals. This includes installing, diagnosing, repairing, maintaining, and upgrading all hardware and equipment while ensuring optimal workstation performance. The person will also troubleshoot problem areas in a timely and accurate fashion, and provide end user training and assistance where required.

End User Support:

  • Provides first tier computer support for INFICON.
  • Provide remote support for end-users and follow up to ensure all issues have been resolved.
  • Provides help desk support for all IT related and application connectivity questions. This includes: maintaining and installations (or coordinates installation and maintenance) of computer/telecommunication equipment, PCs, printers, scanners, hubs, routers, switches, firewalls, cables, etc.
  • Provide technical support for configuration, installation, problem isolation and problem resolution of company computer and network systems.Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Maintain computer virus prevention on all servers and PCs
  • Monitor established network policies, procedures and standards to ensure conformance with information systems and companys objectives.
  • Follow management direction in the enhancement of the system to meet the needs of the organization.
  • Act as liaison to provide training and support to end users and staff on computer and software operation as well as other issues.Receive and respond to incoming calls and/or e-mails regarding PC and /or software and hardware problems.
  • Develop and maintain an inventory of all hardware and software. If necessary, work with third-party support and software and hardware vendors.

  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Must have customer service and problem solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and to be self-motivated.
  • Able to work effectively in methodical troubleshooting to provide resolution to incidents.
  • Physical ability to bend, stoop, kneel, squat, twist, reach, pull and lift heavy objects.
  • Must be able to climb stairs/ladders several times a day and carry equipment between different department locations.
  • Must be able to maintain confidentiality.


  • Associates degree in Information Technology or Computer Science or 3 years equivalent work experience will be considered in lieu of degree.
  • Excellent technical knowledge of network, computer hardware and software preferred.
  • Hands-on hardware and software troubleshooting experience.
