  • In conjunction with the Project Manager, and with input from the cross-functional team, generate, publish and maintain an accurate a Master Schedule, using MS Project, showing the tasks and resources required to deliver on-time, per customer requirements and milestones.
  • Work closely with IPMO, development, operations and other project teams to develop detailed schedules, keep these schedules current and seamlessly integrated into the Master Schedule.
  • Provide hands-on development of layered schedules detailing how a specific project is progressing including how the project contributes to overarching program requirements and objectives.
  • Develop and maintain linkages, dependencies and inter-dependencies with related projects.
  • Identify major milestones, decision points, project life-cycle and other project events.
  • Identify critical path and task dependencies. 
  • Set and maintain the baseline schedule and track all changes to the baselined schedule.
  • Perform ‘what if’ scenarios within the schedule.
  • Liaise with cross-functional project team members and project manager to obtain required data to update schedules, including remaining work and estimated completion date (ECD) for planned tasks.
  • Work in collaboration with Project Management team to drive consistency of the project scheduling approach to facilitate accuracy in project execution and reporting.
  • Assist in defining and implementing industry standard schedule management processes and procedures.
  • Develop schedule version control processes, policies, and procedures and ensure they are followed during the development and maintenance of schedules.
  • Develop and maintain summary level schedule reports Gantt, PERT, milestone charts, and other project management tools used to support critical path analysis, near-term tasks work authorizations, priority based resource allocations, performance variances, and to support cost/schedule integration.
  • Perform schedule estimating through elicitation of team members and other stakeholders to capture estimations of new work, updated actuals and remaining work.
  • Champion and support continuous Risk Mitigation and Issue Management through schedule analysis.
  • Track and inform the project team regarding upcoming tasks and status of work in progress.
  • Assist with establishing and allocating resource pools, aggregating separately maintained project schedules into a consolidated view specifying dependencies and over/under allocation of staff between multiple separate tasks.
  • Generate schedule reports based on planned vs actual work
  • Develop and maintain Stop Light (red, yellow, green) report on tasks in progress (WIP).
  • Troubleshoot and monitor potential scheduling problems and inform the project management team regarding scheduling conflicts/changes.
  • Facilitate and participate in weekly schedule reviews and various other schedule related meetings.
  • Maintain conformance to schedule metrics and measurements.
  • Maintain accurate records/paperwork.
  • Report on any action item blockers. 
  • Collaborate with Action Item owners to drive action items to on-time completion.




  • Bachelor’s Degree with 3+ years of effective scheduling experience in projects with medium to high complexity.
  • PMI-PMP, PMI-SP or equivalent certification preferable but not mandatory.
  • Expert in various types of scheduling models with hands-on experience in developing, analyzing, maintaining, and tracking project schedules for large and complex projects using Microsoft Project 2010 or higher.
  • Demonstrated experience with establishing and allocating resource pools, aggregating separately maintained project schedules into a consolidated view detailing. dependencies and over/under allocation of staff between multiple separate tasks.
  • Deep working knowledge of critical path method scheduling.
  • Experience with documenting, training and enforcing evolving scheduling standards.
  • Experience with integrating multiple schedules into a Master Schedule.
  • Experience creating and augmenting project status reports, near term forecasts, summary activity/milestone reports, critical path, ad-hoc reports and presentations etc.
  • Advanced computer skills with Microsoft Office applications (Word, PowerPoint, Visio, etc.).
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and with competing deadlines.
  • Good oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Experience in managing highly technical system development projects, preferred.
  • Experience working for or with the Federal Government, a plus.
