Pricing & Revenue Strategy, Director - Research - Hoboken, NJ

Wiley is seeking a highly qualified and experienced individual for the role of Director of Pricing & Revenue Strategy. This new role will oversee defining and leading development and deployment of pricing strategy and supporting existing and new business models across Research. This role is accountable for implementation of a consistent pricing process in markets, aligned with a pricing strategy and best practices developed internally and externally. The director will play an important role in shaping Wiley's evolving global product and go-to-market strategies.

What You'll Do:
  • Build a Center of Excellence for strategic and operational pricing, using market research, data analytics and other insights to execute a competitive performance pricing strategy with roadmap
  • Collaborate with business leads to develop new creative business models and pricing strategies; establish dynamic pricing as appropriate
  • Work with markets to implement the playbook, driving best practices, and pricing tools for each element of the process; establish pricing desk as necessary to support the channels
  • Own consistency in markets' approach to pricing, key inputs and metrics (how to assess menu architecture, consumer inputs, establishment of data feeds, approach to assessing elasticity, decision making)
  • Lead efforts, in collaboration with key partners across Wiley, to design and implement governance processes for global pricing and market research activities
  • Think strategically about challenges being faced by the industry, and work closely with business management to mitigate pricing opportunities using research, data analytics and analysis to provide actions that will improve business results and customer experience
  • Drive and collaborate across Research teams to prioritize, organize, and align pricing research and insights activities
  • Direct the activities of a pricing analyst, coordinate analysis with FP&A team as required
  • Engage groups in Pricing market research and strategy across the Company and create a community across groups
What You'll Need:
  • Must have proven track record leading and executing Pricing Strategy using a data driven approach
  • Strong experience in implementing pricing tools and software
  • Metrics driven (financial performance, customer engagement, KPIs, etc.) and financially astute
  • Very strong analytical and process-oriented problem-solving skills
  • Detail orientated, with the ability to prioritize and deliver on projects in a timely fashion
  • Knowledge of the latest qualitative pricing research and analysis techniques
  • Excellent understanding of statistical principles (e.g., multivariate analysis, sampling, etc.)
  • Ability to function successfully in a collaborative, matrixed organization
  • Self-motivated, with strong leadership skills and executive presence
  • Able to work effectively in an environment with multiple priorities
  • Excellent communication skills - verbal and written
  • Ability to recognize existing or potential problems and provide viable solutions for consideration
  • Expert level abilities in statistical analysis, business intelligence, data visualization tools, as well as standard productivity and web tools
  • Strong executive presence that exudes confidence, integrity, transparency and competence.
