Job Description

PROJECT OVERVIEW:

The individual will support the Positioning, Navigation, and Timing (PNT) Program Office (PNT PO) with modernization of a variety of existing GPS receivers to meet existing DoD / civil mandates and DoD / national-level priorities
Plan, develop, and implement program strategies, milestone preparation and documentation to support the overall project lead and Integrated Product Teams
Potential for liaison work with other AFLCMC Program Offices, and operational units
This position will be assigned at government offices at Robins AFB, GA.
JOB DESCRIPTION AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Responsible for providing effective and efficient acquisition and sustainment logistics support services in support of the customer’s mission.

Services include some or all of the following:

Responsible for translating strategic direction into acquisition logistics plans, support plans, and acquisition documentation in support of the GPS programs
Provide support to accomplish the generation/review of logistics documentation including the following: Life Cycle Sustainment Plans; Core Logistics Analysis; Depot Source of Repair assignment; Logistics Assessments; Product Support Business Case Analyses; Item Unique Identification Plan; Programmatic Environmental, Safety & Occupational Health Evaluation; Performance Work Statements, and work specs
Performs analysis of GPS efforts, makes recommendations related to performance enhancement, deficiency correction and adjustments to program logistics and sustainment plans that can improve material reliability, availability, maintainability, and/or reduce cost relative to GPS products
Support the coordination of all integrated logistics support elements to ensure all such requirements for the program are identified and tailored to the GPS program needs
Perform analyses such as Failure Reporting Analysis and Corrective Action System or Diminishing Manufacturing Sources and Material Shortages issues and recommend corrective measures
Assist in producing or reviewing documents for program office use that support the breadth of acquisition and sustainment logistics efforts. Support the program office through both acquisition/sustainment phases of the life cycle
Prepares briefings as necessary in support of Government informational and decision meetings
REQUIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

Security Clearance: Secret

Active Secret Clearance
Bachelor’s Degree (certain types of experience may be used in lieu of degree)
At least 5 years related acquisition logistics experience in USAF and/or DoD programs
Participation in development, coordination, execution of major program milestones (preferably ACAT 1 but ACAT II/III acceptable)
Experience with defense acquisition management processes as contained in DoD 5000 series directives, AFI 63-101, and AFPAM 63-128
Excellent communications skills, both written and verbal
Clear understanding of the OSD and USAF Acquisition and sustainment organization
DESIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

Level II Acquisition Logistician (DAWIA Certification)
15 years related acquisition logistics experience, 4 of those years of experience supporting a major weapon system Program Office within an AFLCMC (or predecessor) Product Center, AFSPC SMC product center, or similar US Army / US Navy Program Office
Experience with GPS systems in a program management and/or logistics management capacity
WORK LOCATION: Robins AFB, GA
