Functional Testing Specialist QA (Senior)

We are seeking a new member to join our team to help us provide solutions for the Department of Defense. The products delivered by this team actively help to ensure the safety of Service Members and their families around the world.
This is a great position for someone with a strong understanding of the software testing and the leadership needed to lead a testing team working on multiple complex projects. We are also looking for someone who has the ability and interest in helping develop proposals from time to time and take part in technical sessions.
On a day to day basis you will perform duties associated with Test planning, Hardware/Software Testing, Documentation and assessment and other duties as they relate to Quality Assurance and software testing to include:
Serve as a project application lead tester for projects to design and implement innovative solutions
Support the testing needs of multiple complex software applications, databases, web services, data files, hardware components, system integration and sync processing
Coordinate and lead others in analyzing collected requirements to ensure plans and identified solutions meet customer needs and expectations
Monitor projects and ensures client requirements are met
Serve as team leader and mentor to work with clients and vendors
Design test scenarios and test cases that will demonstrate conformance to all functional requirements as defined in technical specs
Manually test applications
Support the preparation of proposals, business plans, standard process documentation and other documents related to the government contract
Ensure issues/defects are identified, tracked, reported, and resolved in a timely manner during a testing cycle
Report findings and provide metric inputs.
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field. May substitute equivalent combination of education and experience
5+ years in software development to include:
Use of version control systems (i.e. JIRA, BugZilla, or TestTrack Pro)
Ability to develop application testing knowledge on the Windows platform, especially Client/Server .Net and Java applications, data synchronization, Global Platform and Biometrics, and/or XML/SOAP applications.
Basic understanding on how to create, edit, update SQL statements
Comprehensive understanding of both manual and automated testing methodologies, processes and testing metrics
Fundamental knowledge in scripting languages to automate testing tasks leading to the ability to learn to use automated testing tools
Understand how to create/update QA test plans and test cases based on requirements
Knowledge of the database and network architecture used by the applications and how it may or may not impact the testing efforts for the software releases
Understanding of application business rules, configuration management and deployment processes
Experience supporting Infrastructure, and backend components required to support the application
Previous experience mapping test cases to requirements via the Requirements Traceability Matrix (RTM)
Examples and history of designing test cases that conform to functional requirements in technical specs
Understanding of both manual and automated testing methodologies, processes and testing metrics
Strong Understanding of different software development life cycles (i.e. waterfall, iterative, agile, etc.)
Clearance Requirement: Clearable (Applicants selected will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for a Secret Clearance)
