Summary: Trained to tend, oversees receiving of grain and ingredients into the Laurinburg feed mill. Effectively enters information from ingredient haulers & grain producers into mill computer system. Interacts with mill and grain team to ensure a positive delivery experience for all customers, to assure compliance with established procedures relative to quality, productivity and safety by performing the following duties.
Essential duties and responsibilities: include the following. Other duties may be assigned. • Follows standard operating instructions/procedures in the performance of any and all operator areas, including previously load hauled, grain testing and grading, and ingredient sampling retention, along with record keeping. • Operates all area equipment (computer, testing equipment, etc.). • Perform daily tickets back up and report any issues with the tickets to the feed mill manager. • Weighs in carrier and prepares mill pass ingredient information, weight, and designated unloading pit. • Communicates effectively with receiving and grain pit operator via 2-way radio or phone • Effectively communicates truck delivery activity to mill/grain team. • Ensure a positive customer experience for all feed and grain haulers. • Prepares and maintains shift activity reports, tracks ingredient ticket reports, sampling records and retention. Assembles paperwork for each load. • Perform housekeeping duties as requested by the supervisor, also is responsible to keep is designated area clean and support co-workers in other areas when need. • Maintains and ensures the safety of all employees and assets of the company. • Acquires and maintains necessary certifications (weigh master, annual grain grading, etc.). • Responsible for being in compliance with all environmental laws and procedures to which Smithfield subscribes. • Incumbent will be responsible for understanding and complying with company IPS and EMS policies and procedures in the performance of their job duties. • Report all environmental issues immediately to their supervisor. • Read and understand the company's emergency notification process and will be responsible for reviewing that policy at their work site. • Performs other duties as defined by manager/shift supervisor.
