Wooden It Be Nice, Ltd. (www.wibnltd.com) is seeking full-time Metal Stud Framing & Drywall Superintendents. A Superintendent/ Lead Carpenter is a craftsman with extensive skill and experience level, able to manage job sites with multiple employees and trade contractors. Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • The primary focus of the Superintendent will be to assure that a job is completed on-time and on-budget.
  • Coordinate with our Safety Director to assure that all employees and subcontractors are working safely and adhering to WIBN and customer safety rules, and perform daily safety audits and weekly tool box talks.
  • Ability to run medium to large jobs in the construction of metal stud framing, drywall hang, and finish and acoustical ceiling systems with a strong eye for details.
  • Coordinate tasks according to priorities and plan and schedule work activities with all employees and subcontractors.
  • Developing and maintaining excellent customer relationships to assure that they are the partner that helps drive the job with the GC/Customer or Client.
  • Assuring that the assigned workers time entries, assist in determining appropriate pay levels, assessing skills and rewarding/disciplining about their performance.
  • Ensure that all employees and team adhere to State and Federal rules and regulations and to lead WIBN’s Injury Free Environment (IFE) Safety Program.
  • Ability to manage stressful situations when they occur. 
    Provide daily photos, daily reports and updates of work in progress. 
  • Pick-up and receive inventory and store materials both on and off sites.
  • Verifies that each employee or subcontractor has completed their work within the project. 
    You will be working 5-6 days per week, 9-10 hours per day. Most of our projects last anywhere from 10 to 20 weeks.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Proficient in Layout with solid knowledge of Metal Framing, Rough Carpentry, Drywall, FRP/NRP, and Acoustical Ceilings.
  • Minimum of 10 years overall experience with at least five years of supervisory experience running crew sizes up to 30 people, and five years working on commercial projects.
  • Must be able to read blueprints or other specifications to determine methods of installation, work procedures, or material/tool requirements.
  • Must be able to layout reference lines and points.
  • Is highly organized with the ability to manage multiple tasks at once, amid interruptions. 
  • Must possess the skills to multi-task, work in a team setting, and to implement general and daily responsibilities and ensure manpower and resources are adequate to meet deadlines.
  • Must have valid DL with a clean MVR and pass pre-employment drug test/physical/background check. 
  • Know all equipment and OSHA guidelines. (USACE 385-1-1 certification is a plus)
  • OSHA certifications are preferred, however not required. Training available
  • Monitor production and quality of crews. 
  • Coordinate work scope with other trades and maintain positive relationships with other contractors and the project team.

Physical Requirement of this position

  • Must be able to stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, or work at heights as required.
  • Must be able to lift and carry objects weighing up to 50 pounds and occasionally more.
  • Must be able to use arms and hands to reach for, handle, and manipulate objects.
  • Must be able to follow specific directions. 
  • Must be able to stand or walk for long periods.
  • Must be able to add, subtract, multiply, and divide whole numbers, percentages, and fractions.
  • Must be able to read and understand measuring tools and levels.
  • Must be able to compare and see differences in the size, shape, and form of lines, figures, and objects.  

Education

  • A High School diploma or GED is required.

Travel

  • Must be open to travel throughout our eight state east coast and Midwest service territory.
  • Paid housing and per diem for qualified, out of area candidates.
  • We offer a two-week rotation job-to-home for all our Superintendents with paid housing and airline travel.

Software Skills

  • We utilize the latest mobile technology for our superintendents. Experience with Fieldwire, Procore or similar field management platform and Microsoft Office is preferred.

Salary: $60,000 to $75,000/year depending on experience
