Job Description

POSITION SUMMARY

Responsible for providing a wide range of customer services to governmental and commercial customers.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS INCLUDE

Provide all aspects of customer service, internally and externally, for a variety of customer groups.

• Handle a large volume of customer phone calls and e-mail requests.

• Provide customer service by taking orders, quoting pricing and availability, and providing status on pending orders, along with ship dates and tracking numbers as needed.

• Input orders into the AX 2012 computer system, including orders received via phone, fax, mail, e-mail or internet.

• Coordinate with warehouse personnel and plant management to ensure orders ship in a timely manner.

• Ensure customer credit cards are charged, either manually or electronically through AX 2012, and provide appropriate paperwork to the customer as needed.

• Maintain up-to-date customer records in AX 2012.

• Communicate any new customer requirements or information to the Customer Service Manager.

• Maintain thorough and accurate records of all purchase order requests received and all sales orders entered.

• Recall or look up product information and specifications as required by customers.

Participate in outbound call campaigns for sales initiatives and new product development

• Recognize discrepancies and report them to the Discrepancy Coordinator.

• Provide administrative support to the Customer Service Manager as needed.

• Communicate effectively with the Business Development Manager assigned to the customer.

• Responsible for assisting with inside sales support to maintain and increase product sales.

• Flexibility to perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

JOB REQUIREMENTS INCLUDE

Education: High school diploma or GED equivalent required. Some college coursework helpful.

Experience: Minimum of 3 years previous customer service required. Manufacturing customer service, call center, or data entry experience helpful.

Knowledge/Skills:

Advanced computer skills in Microsoft Word and Outlook required. AX 2012 experience preferred.

• Excellent written and oral communication skills.

• Good organizational skills and attention to detail.

• Good aptitude for figures and detailed record keeping practices.

• Ability to work independently with periodic consultation/direction.

• Ability to type 35+ words per minute.

• Strong multi-tasking and problem-solving skills.

• Basic Excel skills.
