The Maintenance Technician position is available at the Merck Animal Health facility in Elkhorn, Nebraska, located on the West end of Omaha. The Elkhorn facility is expanding operations to manufacture animal vaccines and biologics.
Work with a dedicated and talented team to manage the facility/mechanic and automation needs of the Elkhorn Production site. Assigned duties vary based on experience and may include the following:
Assist with new equipment installation.
Ensure equipment is in top working order through regular and preventative maintenance
Evaluate and maintain equipment to ensure or improve safety and production efficiency
Interpret mechanical drawings, construction drawings and machine manuals
Conduct daily boiler rounds and facility checks.
Utilize technical equipment to include computers, hydraulic and pneumatic systems, etc.
High school diploma or equivalent
Required Experience and Skills:
Ability to multitask and work as a team.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office products, including Word and Excel
Practical problem solving skills required
Must be able to read and or understand written and verbal policy, instruction and directions in English
City of Omaha 3rd Grade Stationary Engineer’s license
Successful completion of a Physical Abilities Test
Preferred Experience and Skills:
Two years experience related to mechanics/automation/HVAC and equipment set-up and alignment.
