Transportation aims to strategically support business growth and deliver value through the operational execution of Transportation from both a strategy and execution position. Transportation is responsible for all safety, service and cost key performance initiatives of Mdlz.

The Associate Director Transportation Control Tower is a key position within CS&L, with end-to-end responsibility for serving our Customers and delivering our cost profile to Integrated Supply Chain. The role has responsibility for ensuring that the right product gets to right place at the right time and is the last facing to our Customers. Linkages with the plants, the RDC's and the Branches are critical to our success.
The role is required to bring executional oversight and driving strong DMS and operational execution to the organization ensuring the optimum Transportation KPI's are met. Effective operational management is required to balance safety, service & cost.
The role works collaboratively with key business partners to ensure effective management, timely solutions and execution. The role also works closely with our Strategy & Planning teams to ensure end-to-end supply chain execution. Operationally, the role is responsible for the flawless delivery of cost and service to our internal and external partners.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
The Associate Director Transportation Control Tower manages daily, weekly and monthly execution of carrier, manufacturing and distribution excellence creating strong results and relationships. The following deliverables will enable a highly engaged team:
1. Senior Manager Transportation America (Mexico & Canada), $90 MM annual spend, will lead the industry, the strategy and the Planning Linkage:
Routing Guide Compliance Customs Linkage & Execution On time delivery and Track & Trace DMS - Daily Execution Equipment Quality & Security Cost Performance D2B Optimization Supply Planning Daily, Weekly Monthly Distribution Execution & Linkage Monthly Carrier Score-carding
2. Manager International Ocean & Air, $15 MM spend, will lead the following workflows:
Optimize 22 E2E Ocean Lanes Import from 13 countries Manage 2800 Annual Containers Ensure Quality & Security Execution and Linkage Manage Industry Mergers & Consolidations Manage Inflationary Cost Performance Minimize Air-freights Maximize & Lead SOE for Transportation
3. Senior Manager Domestic Transportation, $195 MM annual spend, will lead and optimize the following workflows:
Routing Guide Compliance Optimize Freight Modes OTD and Track & Trace Minimize Assessorial Costs Cost Tree KPI Optimization & Process Lead Daily Execution of the DMS Project Execution Driving Costs & Service D2B Optimization Carrier Scorecard Lead
4. Manager Inbound Transportation, $50 MM annual spend, will lead the following workflows:
Product Supply & Plant Linkage Supplier Transportation & Procurement Optimization Customs Flawless Delivery Cost Performance Process Mapping - Green/Black Belt Projects Cost to Serve Modeling KPI Score-carding RDC/EM Cost & Service Optimization Reduction of Detention & Demurrage Educate the organization on how Toledo moves and/or opportunity for improvement Build information and insights to understand daily and hourly DMS KPI's
The role requires an experienced and strong business leader with the necessary capabilities to ensure the successful delivery of the role requirements and deliver sustainable business value.
Undergraduate Degree Minimum & Graduate Degree a benefit within Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Business, Finance or other relevant subject matter. 10 years senior level experience in ISC/CS&L/Manufacturing Demonstrable supply chain strategy and execution capability Extensive knowledge of network design and logistics Experience of Customer Services and Customer collaboration Experience of leading and motivating a high-performance team
Strong communication and relationship skills Strong supply chain analytical capability Financial budget planning, analysis and reporting skills Ability to write business reports and undertake presentations Ability to define, manage, and deliver supply chain projects Ability to collaborate and work as a Team in a matrix organization Entrepreneurial approach with focus on continuous improvement
