Job Summary:

Independently manage any credit assigned to the department including, the largest, most complex credits normally in excess of $15 MM. Such account assignments would usually be in multi-bank credits. Assists the Division Manager in special projects as requested including providing on-the-job training for more junior staff members assigned as backup on certain accounts.

Major Responsibilities:



  • Administer the collection process for any type or size loan, concentrating mainly on large and/or complex credits. Assignments may include Bank Agented credits in multi bank structures, and in structures in which the Bank may have several levels of involvement. Represent the Bank in large credits where the Bank may not be Agent, but has a lead position in size or structure.

  • Prepare and present written analysis including analysis of loans to Division Manager, Bank Officers, and Committees.

  • Negotiate with all parties involved through the workout/bankruptcy process to achieve the Bank’s objective while maximizing return to the Bank. In complex credit structures, this negotiation will involve significant time spent with other lenders and private equity funds.

  • Prepare and submit on schedule to Division Manager and other Bank management all required reports reflecting the current loans being administered. Maintain the proper accrual status and loan grade on managed accounts.

  • Provide advice, counsel and direction to the Bank. Provide advice, counsel and direction to lending staff regarding expedient identification and evaluation of deteriorating loan situations in order to recognize problem loans early and minimize losses. This may also include significant strategic planning with line officers in negotiations with other lenders and participants in the capital structure (e.g., sub debt, 2nd lien debt, equity, etc.)

  • The majority of the work performed results in a return of principal and interest to the Bank. Performance is measured on a combination of return to the Bank and administration of accounts.

  • Portfolio size under management would range from approximately $150MM to $500MM in assets.


Qualifications:


  • Prior commercial loan workout experience required, including workout experience with accounts and portfolio sizes as noted above

  • 5-7 years corporate/middle market and national account experience

  • Excellent credit administrative and credit diagnostic skills required

  • Requires excellent written and verbal communication

  • Strong negotiation skills

  • Ability to perform advanced financial calculations
