PMOC (Project Manager of Choice) Subcontract to National Power Grid Company

Maccabees Power LLC is a qualified diversity subcontract to a major national power grid company.  We are seeking subcontracts under Prime contractors for the upcoming PMOC contract.  We are seeking qualified candidates willing to work in metro Chicago.

Job Description



Collaborates with lead program manager to establish project schedule and budget, and monitors progress in meeting schedule and budget requirements.  Develops project documents, processes, and procedures required to support quality control and final project deliverables.  Initiate and manage project tracking processing within corporate management system.  Lead / work with PM team - cost engineer, scheduler, and PM assistant to oversee, report, and manage design and build projects.

Develops the pricing and negotiating of contracts and changes to the scope of work with contractors. Reviews bid documents and assists with bidder solicitation activities.  Documents and executes changes in scope of project.

 

Anticipates problems and works with management architects/engineers, contractors, field personnel and lead program manager to identify and implement corrective actions.  Keeps management and lead program director informed of the day-to-day activities of the project.  Maintains accurate documentation of job progress through daily logs and other reports.

 

Performs other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.

Job Requirements

Qualifications:

  • 4-year degree in a technical or construction-related field (or equivalent) 
  • 10+ years related work experience is required 
  • At least 4 years in a project management role directly responsible for all aspects of construction, engineering, or self-perform installation projects, with proven track record of successful completion of contract deliverables
  • Proven ability to perform in a lead capacity, 
  • Experience working on major power grid  projects highly preferred
  • Knowledgeable on contract management, including project controls, configuration management, risk management, schedule and cost control
  • Proven ability to perform in a lead capacity, excellent written and oral communications skills, and a familiarity of electric utilities industry practices and regulations are required
  • Enrollment in PM certification program is preferred, but not required.  Successful Applicant will have to be able to obtain Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification with-in one year of hire date.
  • Must be able to meet customer security requirements. A background check by Federal Authorities will be performed.
