Job Description


Senior Engineer supporting the Positioning, Navigation, and Timing (PNT) Program Office (PNT PO) with modernization of a variety of existing GPS receivers to meet existing DoD / civil mandates and DoD / national-level priorities
Responsible for providing technical acquisition management support services to ensure the effective and efficient delivery of GPS related acquisition services in support of the customer’s mission
This position will be assigned at government offices at Robins AFB, GA

Services include some or all of the following:

Duties will include planning, executing and managing technical aspects of acquisition programs; and leading task execution of assigned technical support staff members.
Will serve as a senior technical advisor to government personnel
Will perform liaison work with other Services, AFLCMC Program Offices, Test Activities, and Operational Units
Serving as Technical SME for PNT Program Office for PEO Agile Combat Support
Satisfying civil and military mandates associated with Assured Position, Navigation, and Timing requirements
Technical requirements, program strategies, statements of work and acquisition plan development
Bid and proposal review/analysis
Engineering trade studies and technical analyses
Evaluating development/integration of modernized GPS systems into Joint Service platforms
Contributing to creation of technology transition plans and supporting system roadmapping efforts

Security Clearance: Secret

Active Secret Clearance
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering
At least 15 years related Acquisition experience, at least 5 of which will have been in a senior leadership/management position
Experience as a SME/Technical IPT lead in a Program Office or on a major acquisition program
Experience with GPS/EGI integration on military platforms and Assured PNT
Participated in development, coordination, and execution of major program milestones
Extensive experience with defense acquisition management processes as contained in the DoD 5000 series directives
Excellent communications skills, both written and verbally
Clear understanding of the OSD and USAF Acquisition organization

Master’s Degree
Level III DAWIA Certification (SPRDE)
ACAT I preferred or ACAT II/III
Eligibility for TS Clearance
At least 20 years related acquisition experience preferred
Former SPO/Division Chief Engineer
2- 3 tours at AFLCMC (or predecessor)/or SMC Product Centers, or similar US Army/US Navy Product Centers, assigned to major weapon system Program Offices
SPO experience in support of technology transition and related planning
Advanced knowledge of GPS and EGI functionality
