JOB DESCRIPTION 

CCR Technologies Ltd. owns and operates a fleet of mobile vacuum distillation processing units that can be transported to a customer’s refinery or gas plant, providing on-site purification of gas treating solutions while the customer’s plant continues to operate. For over 25 years, CCR has successfully reclaimed all conventionally used Amines & Glycols for our valued customers worldwide.

CCR Technologies Ltd is currently seeking qualified people to join our team as a Unit Operator. Reporting to the Project Leader, the Unit Operator is responsible for operating vacuum distillation equipment on customer’s locations in compliance with established procedures to ensure safety, environmental awareness, quality and production efficiency objectives are achieved and established. This position involves frequent travel throughout North America and internationally involving extended periods away from home, and shift work will be required as this is a 24 hour/7 day a week operation.

Specific Responsibilities

  • Responsible for adhering to established work and safety guidelines, rules and regulations.
  • Interacts with other employees, with vendors, and with customer representatives in a polite, courteous and professional manner.
  • Sets monitoring equipment to provide flow of information.
  • Captures and prepares samples for analysis in accordance with established protocols.
  • Installs, operates, and performs routine maintenance and repairs all types of rotary equipment on gas and fluid flow systems, chemical reaction systems, mechanical equipment, and test instrumentation.
  • Responsible for maintaining a neat, clean and orderly work area.
  • Insure all unit and personal protection equipment is maintained and appropriately used always.
  • Record and maintain unit inventories
  • Responsible for assisting with mobilizing and de-mobilizing the unit
  • Assists with mobile unit transportation
  • Any other duties of a similar or lesser nature as required.

Work Environment

  • This position requires frequent travel throughout North America and internationally, involving extended periods away from home, and shift work will be required as this is a 24 hour/7 day a week operation.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles and outdoor weather conditions.
  • The employee is exposed to work near moving mechanical parts.
  • The employee is frequently exposed to working near equipment and fluids with extremely high temperatures.
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate, but may at times be high, so hearing protection is provided and must be used as required.
  • While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. The employee is frequently required to stand, to walk, sometimes quickly, and to use hands to finger, handle, or feel. The employee is occasionally required to sit and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move 25 to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move in weights more than 50 pounds.       Specific vision abilities required by this job include: Close vision, Distance vision, Peripheral vision, Depth perception and Ability to adjust focus.

Salary

Paid hourly, Plus OT, daily per diem, all travel costs including flights and hotels, lucrative benefits package

Job Requirements

  • Degree in a related field is preferred for immediate eligibility for cross border permits
  • Associate of Applied Science (A.A.S) from a 2-year College or trade centre, with certification or diploma in process technology, petroleum engineering technology, chemical processing technology, or similar certification an asset
  • Mechanically inclined and strong work ethics.
  • Able to work in the United States, Canada and any other countries
  • Meeting qualifications to operate DOT vehicles, and meeting qualifications for CDL Class 1 license is a plus.
  • Valid Passport.
  • Citizenship is preferred for ability to immediately apply for cross border permits

Specific Skills and Capabilities

Technical Ability

  • Understands the unit operating conditions under both normal and other than normal conditions in terms of mass flows, inlet and outlet pressures, process temperatures, frequency variation, and variation in molecular weight of the solutions being processed.

Language Ability:

  • Fluent in speaking, reading, and writing English. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general P&IDs, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to complete documents required for reporting purposes.

Math Ability:

  • Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

Reasoning Ability:

  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Computer Skills:

  • To perform this job successfully, an individual should have basic knowledge of or the ability to quickly learn Wonderware and Windows Office programs: Word, Excel.

Physical Ability:

  • Must be able to pass drug and alcohol free testing to meet CCR and DISA’s aptitude to work requirement.
