Server Administrator for WSUS Upstream Servers and multiple downstream servers for Windows Critical/Security updates. Ensures network connectivity, server health and WSUS functionality.
Responsible for Red Hat Servers, including troubleshooting YUM issues and updating systems to ensure little to no downtime.
Documents detailed procedures for various projects onVSEincluding Readme files, test cards and implementation guides.
Adheres to and ensures compliance with DoD Guidelines
Participates in plans to safeguard important files against modification or deletion.
Monitors current reports of computer viruses via internet blogs and webcasts to determine emerging issues and trends with Microsoft and 3rd Party patches.
Presents Software Change Request for Patch releases in front of the Software Committee Board.
5 years of experience in systems administration and analysis to include logging onto servers and completing administrative tasks.
CompTIA Security+ certification, and Operating system Certification to meet DoD 8570-IAT level II is required. RHEL Certification/Experience. YUM experience.

AAS, BS or BA degree in Computer Science, Information Systems/Technology, Engineering, Business, or Mathematics. ALLOWABLE SUBSTITUTION: Equivalent combination of education, technical certifications or training, or work experience.
