The Pneudraulic Systems Mechanic maintains, modifies and repairs hydraulic and pneumatic systems and components that actuate mechanisms or produce, control and regulate the flow of fluids (liquids and gases); tests for and isolates malfunctions in hydraulic and pneumatic systems or components, utilizing technical manuals and schematics; and modifies, repairs or disassembles and overhauls systems or components.
Disassemble, examine, repair, modify, overhaul, calibrate, test and troubleshoot fuel control systems and components; carburetors; fuel, oil, hydraulic pumps; anti-icing valves and fuel heaters;
Have knowledge of the specific systems' operation and function in order to adapt the unit under test/calibration to the test stand by assembling segments of circuitry composed of connectors, fittings, adapters, valves, gauges and electrical power (Knowledge of the operation of the complete engine system is required in order to define and analyze problems that affect the engine test function.);
Be knowledgeable in engine operating parameters, as simulated on the test bench, and how accessories are calibrated to provide for the proper fuel, air or oil metering IAW a predetermined flow schedule, which varies as a function of the pilot's throttle lever position, engine burner pressure, compressor inlet pressure and temperature engine revolutions per minute (RPM) and altitude;
Have knowledge of test stands and test equipment in order to perform specific periodic inspections to insure safe and proper usage, accuracy of instrumentation and good housekeeping;
Perform troubleshooting operations and shall solve individual problems by using methods, practices and procedures as result of experience;
Be able to use precision measuring devices, optical instruments, microscopes, vernier height, depth gauges, air gauging equipment, profilometers, micrometers, dial indicators and shall be able to read, record and calculate tolerances of .0001 inch and surface finishes of one Root Mean System (RMS); and
Be able to use pressure and differential pressure indicators, fuel flow meters, RPM indicators, temperature indicators, volt meters, amplimeters and water or mercury manometers.

High School Diploma or equivalent
A&P license not required but a plus
Must have at least two (2) years' experience in Aerospace and/or Aircraft pneudraulic systems procedures and processes
Prefer experience from military fixed wing community (F/A-18, P-3, T-44,,H-60) or civilian heavy structure background
Prefer Military installation Intermediate and/or DEPOT level maintenance experience
Must be a US Citizen
Must be able to pass a National Agency background check, which could include criminal history and a credit check for access to Government facilities.
