Position: Shop Supervisor/Mechanic
Talisman Construction Services, Inc. is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Shop Supervisor/lead mechanic. Candidates for this position should be “self-starters” without the need for continuous supervision or motivation. Successful candidates should be organized, detail oriented and goal driven in an effort to support field and project operations. This position reports to the company management and directly supports/enhances field operations and is integral to successful project performance.
Note, Talisman has significant and successful experience with military veterans in this position and is interested in individuals with diverse backgrounds and experience and who rise to a challenge. The position can be very demanding depending upon field operation tempo, experience of personnel operating equipment and competency of project supervision. Job Description and Duties:
Supervise all aspects of shop, vehicle and equipment maintenance including, but not limited to the following:
Supervise all aspects of shop including ordering of parts, materials and consumables.
Supervise and Implement company vehicle and equipment use/maintenance policies.
Supervise and perform training of employees on proper use of tools and equipment including aerial lift and forklift certification per applicable regulations.
Supervise and perform diagnostics and repairs on company vehicles including Class 8 trucks, specialized roll-off trucks, light duty trucks, trailers and other vehicles.
Supervise and perform diagnostics and repairs on company heavy equipment including excavators, skid steer loaders, tracked loaders, etc.
Supervise and perform diagnostics associated with specialty concrete cutting and breaking equipment including concrete saws, wire saws, Brokk Robots, etc. Knowledge of 3 phase AC power and 24 DC control circuits is a plus.
Supervise and perform documentation of commercial vehicle use including maintenance logs, truck driver inspection reports, mileage logs and DOT mandated annual inspections/certifications.
Supervise and perform maintenance and repairs of small engine powered equipment and hand tools including pneumatic and electric hand tools.
Supervise and perform maintenance and repairs on aerial lifts including man lifts, swing stage systems and other aerial access devices/equipment.

NO Security Clearance
Expert knowledge and experience in heavy diesel truck and equipment operation and repairs including hydraulic systems.
“Journeyman” level welding and fabrication experience.
Expert knowledge and understanding of commercial vehicle regulations and associated paperwork.
Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office including Excel, Word and Outlook.
Ability to properly document and track repairs and maintenance operations.
Working knowledge of equipment and vehicle electrical systems including 12 and 24 volt DC.
Ability to diagnose and research problems and repair options.
Ability to clearly and effectively communicate with management and field personnel.
Ability to work independently and supervise multiple persons depending upon situation.
