Laboratory Technician

The candidate will have knowledge of microbiology and/or microbial fermentation, molecular biology and protein purification. The individual will be able to independently and proactively execute protocols and experimental objectives in a timely and detail oriented manner.

Tasks will involve operations relating to microbiological fermentations, sterile media preparation, operation of bioreactors, assay work, and other general microbiological procedures. In addition, responsibilities will include execution of various bioanalytical techniques.

Education Minimum Requirement:

• Bachelor’s degree in the life sciences, bioengineering, or related field

• Basic knowledge in biochemistry, molecular biology, or microbiology..
• Excellent organization skills to multi-task and manage multiple projects. 
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills. 
• Self-motivated, energetic, organized, and willing to work in a laboratory setting.
• Applicant must be able to work flexible work schedule that includes shift work.
• Some heavy lifting; applicant must not have lifting restrictions 

• Previous experience working with microbial fermentations.
• Experience performing analytical work including HPLC
