Job Description

Bay Area Sports and Events (BASE) is currently seeking Guest Services Ushers. This position will report directly to the Guest Services Manager. The Guest Services Ushers are responsible for welcoming our guests to the Oakland-Alameda County Coliseum, checking tickets in the seating sections, assisting our fans and offering exceptional customer service. This is a part-time seasonal position.


  • Greet and direct guests at the Oakland-Alameda County Coliseum
  • Aid guests in finding their assigned seating location
  • Manage assigned seating section to maintain order and offer exceptional customer service
  • Respond to customer inquiries, suggestions and complaints
  • Offer special accommodations and assistance for guests as needed
  • Help with giveaway line control and distribution
  • Identify and quickly respond to emergencies according to appropriate procedures
  • Perform duties assigned to ensure a safe and enjoyable event experience
  • Develop full knowledge of the Oakland Athletics ticket and stadium policies
  • Have full knowledge of the Oakland-Alameda County Coliseum procedures and layout

Job Requirements


  • Must be able to work a minimum of 50% of A’s home games each month
  • Must be able to stand and walk for a minimum of 6 hours
  • Excellent customer service, interpersonal and problem solving skills
  • Ability to navigate a variety of floor surfaces and areas including but not limited to: stairs, escalators, carpet, concrete, grass and dirt
  • Lifting objects weighing up to 40lbs. may be required
  • Ability to work in a variety of environments including but not limited to: heat, rain, sun, around crowds, loud noises, flashing lights and darkened corridors
  • Detail oriented individual with excellent written and verbal skills
  • Ability to work flexible hours including nights, weekends and holidays
